Who considers the Patterson-Johansson to be great? First fight was a blowout, second fight was a nothing one before the knockout, and beside the opening round, the third fight wasn't much either.

The Bowe-Holyfield trilogy is quite possibly the greatest heavyweight trilogy ever.

Patterson-Johansson and Zale-Graziano are my favorite trilogies.

I'm a massive Patterson fan, and he's one of my top ten favourites to watch, but it's got to be Holy/Bowe. Much richer, more competitive work and more of it being done throughout those. Patterson/Ingo was a great one, though.

Bowe-Holyfield. Awesome fights all around. Patterson-Johansson is excellent too though, it's more of a 1 and 1a thing.

I don't find Patterson-Johanssen awesome. Each fight was kind of one sided. The 2nd one had a great knockout, though.

The first and second Holyfield-Bowe fights were hyper competitive barn burners. Classic rounds, classic action, give and take, chances in momentum, multiple storylines.

Holy-Bowe III was kinda sad, but even then, it wasn't a terribly poor fight and had some good dramatic moments.

Patterson-Johanssen is an important trilogy, but its not one of the best heavyweight series. I'd rate Bowe-Holy over it easily.

    Hell yeah.

Only shame is that Tyson wasn't around in 1992-94 to mix it up with those guys. Throw Lewis, Foreman, Moorer in there as well. It was already a tremendous division in the first half of the decade with Tyson behind bars.
