It's way too early for that kind of fight.

Hell, Smith probably won't be around when CBJ is hitting his stride.

Also, Smith is nothing special at all.

    Crazy idea.

I wish he had changed his name by deed poll. I thought he looked very promising and I was not expecting much given the sparring I saw from a couple of years back or a year back (can't quite remember how long ago it was).

But he should be brought on like any novice. Let him make mistakes that wont cost him too big and learn the game. Give him some durable opponents and also some who throw a fair amount but don't hit that hard. Then give him some bigger punchers and mix it up. Have him learn from his fights rather than knock off some total cans or get punished by someone way above his level at this time.

He has lots to work on and a lot of time to do so. I'm interested to see him develop and think that is something done more easily without ludicrous hype.

IMO he should be looking at the winner of the super six, i think he beats both froch and ward. Then move onto a unification with Bute, before stepping upto light heavy where he beats hopkins.

Retire at 4-0 , and move to Japan where he can open a karaoke bar that only alows tina turner songs.

He showed some nice skills in there: good jab, decent variety, moved well, etc. It’s too early to say much more: he needs to develop and work on delivering his punches. He doesn’t look like he has too much strategy behind his work. These are all things he can be taught – he’s getting most of the fundamentals right from the quick look we’ve had. The quality of sparring he’s having also bodes well.

No point in rushing Eubank Jr, he's only 22.

Why? How many debut fights really look great? He looked better than Degale, BJJ and Gavin did in their first fights.

He should have stepped around the body more to throw his body shots and he should have perhaps tried to step into the pocket and throw an uppercut or two from close to open up the guard, but the opponent was like a ****ing tortoise. Totally tucked up, elbows in, chin down, gloves up.

Eubank Jr looked technically very good for someone so inexperienced, he was fast, threw the jab with purpose unlike the pawing action of so many and put his shots together well. He looked loose rather than upright and all in all was very impressive IMO.

I'd be interested to know what you and others thought was poor especially for a first pro fight.
