I want you guys to really take your emotions out of this and just try to be objective with what I’m about to say. People really don’t understand boxing. They judge fights as if the fight is ONE BIG 36 minute fight. It’s not like that. It’s the totality of 12 separate 3 minute rounds. The reason why I bring this up is this: if I raced you 12 times in a 100 meter sprint. If you beat me by 10 meters in 5 of the races and I beat you by 2 inches in 7 of the races, I still won more races than you. Marquez won the rounds he won, more clearly and dominant, I agree with that totally. The rounds Manny won were more out-hustle rounds than dominant rounds. But nevertheless he won them. I think this is why everyone is so outraged. I remember the same thing with Jermain Taylor-Bernard Hopkins I. Hopkins won his rounds more clear, but he won less of them in my opinion, where as Taylor kind of outhustled him. Guys, I’m not trying to sway anybody but think about what I’m saying. In a fight with NO 10-8 rounds or knockdowns all of the rounds are scored 10-9.
That's not the point I'm making though. It was about Compubox being used to prove or disprove something. It's used by everyone when it suits, and not when it doesn't. It's completely irrelevant. :conf
what are u talkin about, it would've been used had **** drinker not been put on his ass so many times if **** drinker didn't get dropped then he would've won both, and one of the reasons would've been his compubox numbers, yes he had better compubox numbers the first two, but he lost in points
IIRC, in another thread someone actually posted the round-by-round compu-box entries for Pac-Marquez III. I can't find it as the ESB search engine is horrible. Can someone re-post it here? I'm DYING to see how many "landed" punches were input for Manny in round 12. (I count 3, maybe 4 if you want to be generous with his final flurry.) And yes, I understand the rules & how to score.
Not only did Marquez won his rounds more clearly, he WON more rounds as well, watch the fight instead of listening to HBO's bias comments. **** Drinker just schooled your hero this past saturday night and the vast majority of the boxing world agrees, including many pro boxers, who by the way know more about boxing than your stupid ass. :deal
We aren't being inconsistent. There is more to scoring that punches thrown and landed. The difference between the 2nd fight and the 3rd is that Pacquiao not only was the aggressor he also landed more punches. The entire argument that JMM won that fight is just armature scoring creeping its way into professional boxing. Effective aggression, ring generalship, defense, clean hard punching. I had it 4-4 after 8 and then Nacho made the dumb mistake of telling Marquez to put it on auto-pilot and I scored it 3-1 from then on.
There is LITERALLY something wrong with either your eyes or your brain. I mean this sincerely. I can find no logical explanation for how someone could make that statement and actually mean it, unless maybe they didn't actually watch the fight. Seriously, get checked out by a doctor as soon as possible. Lives could be at stake.
This. Pathetic the propoganda coming out now, Compubox (brushing shoulders counts, button presser probably on Arum's payroll) and Aggression (only effective aggression was by JMM) Marquez won the fight, clear as day, atleast 8 rounds (including rd 12)
Indeed. Jmm won both fight 1 and 2 imo but atleast they were close due to the knockdowns, this was the clearest of the 3 fights in Marquez favour
