George Groves fought Adamu in his 9th fight.

There are five levels above Smith and only two below.

Eubank Jnr is an excellent talent.

    Is this a serious thread???

I think he will be brought through slowly , and will probably have about 15-20 wins under his belt before he is even tested properly.

This is just like saying Anthony Joshua (assuming he turns pro) should fight a Tom Dallas in his second fight.

I said give him five more fights, then go for Smith. He's got the talent.

There is a big difference between Paul Smith and Martinez.

How do we know? based on some grainy amatuer fight footage? Or is it the 4 rounds against an east european journeyman who walked around with his gloves up in front of his face that convinced you?

give the lad the chance to develop. hes 21 ffs.

I did not say he looked poor.

I said that he 'did not look that good in his first fight' and nothing more, I did not criticise his performance in detail because that would have been very unfair but I am not ready to buff his knob because he scored an odd stoppage over an eatern European bum and a bad bum at that.

I have seen quite a few debut fights from my many visits to the small halls and alot of the lads manage to look capable against such poor none attacking opponents.

Eubank has a very long way to go before he is anywhere near the level of facing Smith and I am one of Smiths biggest haters on here.

I'm rapidly becoming a respected member of this online community. I deserve to be named newcomer of the year.

    My opinions are valid.

I thought he looked OK. You could see some things he did well but against the sort of opponent the main thing that stands out is how he opens his opponent up, or how he can pick the killer shot. He didn't look great at that on the night but to me he looked abit over enthusiastic more thought on getting the hail mary KO or his posing. He did seem to have a good bit of power, good jab and punch variety but It was a decent performance to build on. Nice to see him in a 6 rounder off the bat as well even if it didn't make it there.

Could you imagine this idiot as a match maker, lads would be getting battered in 2nd fight and never recover. Lives up to his username yet again..

Fair enough, but when you say "He did not even look that good" it certainly reads as a criticism. It does not read as "He looked good against a poor opponent which doesn't mean much" it reads as "He made a lot of mistakes" or "He looked very ordinary".
    Totally agreed.

Sorry but Joshua would spark Dallas in his 1st fight easily.

Interesting but irrelevant fact is that the same guy fought George Groves on Groves' pro debut.

why run before you can walk. he has a long way to go, cos he has the name Eubank doesn't mean he's gone be any good, he has potential and will be fed bums in the next 18 months but to suggest a bout against Paul Smith is very early.

I thought Chris did well, I mean we moan even at top level about fighters struggling with negative tactics. He did his best to try open the guy up. He is still a bit novice in the IQ area but he's learning on the job and looks to be at home and natural to boxing.

The kid has a bright future, but we don't know if he has them hidden qualities that make you a champion like heart. That will be shown in future fights.

People saying he needs a bit 'o ringsmarts (or similar) as he didnt go to the body early on.....maybe Ronnie told him to stay up top for a while, then bring it low ?

I dont remember seeing many left hooks to the head though (go round it rather than through it).......could be wrong.

Am guessing the his next fight should be 8 rounds post is sarcasm in regard to the thread ?

Got a feeling he will be stepped up quicker than usuals.
