So Arum did the same thing as Mayweather and yet you say Arum never wanted the fight. Which makes me wonder...why are you disagreeing with him? Because unless you're biased, that means you must think Mayweather doesn't want the fight either.

For the record, I think Mayweather and Arum don't want the fight. I think Pacquiao would fight anyone.

Schaefer said the notification came in an email from retired federal judge Daniel Weinstein, the mediator who has worked closely with the sides to settle numerous lawsuits and issues in recent years.

"I am sick and tired of Bob Arum twisting the truth. It's another case of 'yesterday I was lying, today I'm telling the truth,' " Schaefer said, invoking Arum's most famous quote. "The truth of the matter is that we received this afternoon an email from retired federal judge Daniel Weinstein, who has informed us that Top Rank is pursuing a rematch with Marquez and, therefore, is not interested in immediate talks for a possible Mayweather-Pacquiao fight. This is obviously as clear as it can be that they have no intentions of making a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight. Therefore, Floyd Mayweather will have no other choice than to move on and identify and lock in another opponent for his ring return on May 5."

Schaefer said the plan was to use Weinstein to help them make the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight because he is trusted by both sides and intimately familiar with the problems between the rival promotional companies.

"Judge Weinstein is respected by both parties and mediated issues between Top Rank and Golden Boy before, so the plan was to see if he could help facilitate such a fight. Floyd's team really wanted to get this fight done," Schaefer said. "If you just sit down with Arum, he can at any time have one of his fits, one of his 'f--- you' attacks, and the likelihood that he would have a 'f--- you' attack in front of a retired judge seemed less likely than if Arum and me would be alone in a room." :deal

Ok Philla, you are talking stupid, cool story though...carry on. This is so disgustingly ignorant that I don't want to discuss it and be rude to you, because I actually like you as a poster.

Thanks for pointing that out. It proves that Schaefer/May are playing the exact same game that Arum is playing. So why concentrate on one and ignore the other?

I don't see what the problem is.

If Pacquiao gets a clearer victory in the 4th fight and then takes the Mayweather fight after, I don't see a problem. If anything it would make the megafight that much more appealing.

All this talk about belly buttons and PPV buys is irrelevant.

So what happens when Marquez box Manny all night and gets robbed or a draw? Do they fight a 5th time?

pac has NEVER been comping at the bit to rematch any of his previous marquez fights, it took years both times to get them back in the ring together, now all the sudden he wants an immediate rematch?

He knows that he lost the fight which is why they are crying with excuses. Now they know that is they can't handle Marquez they damn sure can't deal with Mayweather.

I couldn't agree more. Where are all these Patards who demanded PBF-Pac? They know goddamn well that PBF will beat the **** outta Pac in embarrassing fashion and air out his dirt laundry to boot in the build up. PBF-Pac's numbers would dwarf Pac-JMM 4 also after Pac gets his ass kicked by PBF he could still fight JMM and it would sell. The fact is pac is ducking PBF and wants nothing to do with him and neither do his fans.:deal This is the biggest most blatant duck of this era and people will never let Pac or his fans live it down.

Well, the other two weren't blatant JMM wins, were they? The desire to correct this one - where he was badly outboxed - is naturally going to be a stronger one.
