My job entails a lot of promotional strategy, and one thing my experience tells me, is that after the JMM fight, it was clear that Arum waited one fight too long to cash out.

This JMM fight was a disaster waiting to happen, and short of agreeing a fight with Floyd NOW, it will continue to lose its appeal.

If Arum (Pac) tries to take another JMM fight or some other fighter, the Mayweather fight will become less and less profitable. The $100 Million per fighter boat has already passed, and if they take another 6 months + to agree the Floyd fight; they will be in danger of missing the $50 Million per fighter purse too.

This result has REALLY damaged boxing, and coupled with JMM's counter punching style, it has also reduced the ambiguity with regards to the result - With many Pac fans who live in reality (myself included) not so sure if Pac would beat Mayweather.

To put it simply, they NEED to make this fight NOW. Or else it will fall by the wayside, and either not happen, or become another 'What if they fought earlier?' scenarios like Tyson Vs. Lewis.... With the hype of the fight being nowhere near as big as it should be.

I agree 100%. It should have happened years ago. They can still salvage it though if they fight in the spring. If Manny fights Marquez again though, or anyone else for that matter, it could ruin the fight.

Floyd should have fought him a few years ago and ducked him. With JMM beating Manny, the fight should not be made now.

as soon as the pac/JMM fight was done i said they need to make pac/may happen now. cuz they got no chance based on this performance and better cash out now while they can. arum fails to see that mayweather is fresh cuz he has long layoffs..meanwhile manny fights at least 2 times a year and just putting more wear and tear on his body..all while not improving his performances against JMM.

Seeing the backlash vs Pac now you can understand why Floyd handpicks opponents.
When the fight is replayed saturday it will be the highest viewed replay in history.
    Pacs performance will be upgraded.
Floyd wants no part of Manny.
He will fight JMM before Pac because of styles. This is why Arum is quick to make IIII.
Only one fraud and that is the decling PPV Mayweather.

Mayweather wanted no part of Manny after he destroyed Oscar, Cotto, Hatton. Now that he has looked vulnerable, Mayweather would most likely think its safe.

Its just not even about Floyd, b/c the fight DOES not mean as much as it used to b/c of what JMM just did. The best thing is have Manny fight him again.

Floyd fought Marquez 2 years before Pac after he was coming of the Diaz win

Mosley coming off the Margarito win

Ortiz coming off the Berto win

Pac fought Margarito coming off a loss against mosley and a win over a non one

Cotto after battling Margarito and winning a close SD to clottey

Mosley coming off a loss and a draw

Im sorry but Pac is more of a cherry picker as of lately

Arum wants no part of Floyd..

They are quick to say they want the fight in interviews (when coincidently Manny is signed to fight someone else.)

When it gets to the negotiating table, Arum wants nothing to do with.

When history looks back on why this fight was never made, blame Bob Arum

floyd should have paid JMM step aside money after signing a fight on Ricky Hatton-Pacquiao day..

    He didn't.

Yup.. those 'whos ducking who' is irrelevant..

    Maybe Floyd ducked Pac...

    maybe Pac ducked Floyd...

Maybe they're both ducking one another, or ducking one another for various reasons at different times... It's entirely possible.. but regardless..

It just needs to happen...SOON... Or else it's another to add to the boxing 'what ifs'...
