Im just curious to see what everyones score are in each of the 3 marquez-pacquiao fights. mine are: 1. 114-111 Marquez 2. 114-113 Marquez 3. 116-112 Marquez
The first one to me was the closest. I dont remember scores but it was to JMM by 1 point i believe. The second one i has something like JMM 7-5 or 8-4. This third one was about the same score but the rounds were won clearer.
2-1 not either way but for Marquez, and fairly clearly for me. I had Pac winning the 1st fight by a point. The second fight came down to both round 7 & 9. Two very close rounds. If you think Pac wins both you think he wins. Basically, you got to give Pac the benefit of the doubt for him to win those rounds and that fight, and that's what happened as it always does for the more promotional fighter. No surprise there, but simple-minded people don't quite grasp that and think there's some sort of agenda for people to score fights against Pac and for Marquez. The same sequence applies to the third fight but only to a greater effect. Marquez won his rounds more clearly, and more often. Marquez wins about 4-5 rounds fairly clearer. Pac might've won 2 rounds clearly. You got to give virtually every swing round to Pac for him to win by 2 points. Yeah, a close fight because it's ultimately very difficult to score, but Marquez was even more decisive by the winning the 3rd fight by an even greater fashion. 1st Fight - 113-112 Pac 2nd Fight - 114-113 Marquez 3rd Fight - 116-113 Marquez (This is at the very best for Pac).
9 rounds to 3 each of the first two fights. 10-2 Marquez this 3rd fight. Marquez controlled pace and tempo all three fights and consistently landed the cleaner more effective shots throughout most of the rounds. The only thing that kept Pacquiao competitve in the first two fights was Marquez over exhuberance in throwing too many combinations that passed 3 punches. Marquez limited those multishot combination sequences that went past 3 shots in this 3rd fight and we see that Pacquiao was never in position to land a clean and hard enough shot to even stun Marquez. When you throw bring down your multi-shot combination output, it brings you to a state of being more aware defensively. (why do you all think Mayweather and Hopkins throw mainly one's and two's?) In any regards, Marquez far and beyond wins most rounds in all three fights and does it clearly in the great majority of those rounds.
How I would have expected judges to score it: 1st - Draw (one judge draw, the others split) 2nd - JMM (SD for Marquez) 3rd - Pac (SD for Pac) = would have expected judges to split on the close rounds. My scores: PAC - JMM 112-112 113-115 thin margin but JMM won more rounds clearly I feel 115-113 razor thin win by pac, only edging the close rounds It really is a case of unstoppable force meeting immovable object blah blah
