Chang has a style much better suited to handling boxer types than Yuh, but Yuh is the wrong man to rumble with.

Chang probably wins if he's in top condition due to his better flexibility and fluidity, but Yuh would push even the best Chang to the limits.

If Chang is anything but at his best, Yuh would take him imo.

That's what I actually just came on to start, Flea. :good I'm going to watch a lot of his fights again though and take my time with it.

    Totally agree, SS.

Yuh excels when he has an offensive minded opponent, one that comes right for him. For all of Yuh's strengths, and for all of the praise he often gets on the Classic, I still feel his counterpunching ability is overlooked. He can either come over the top with his lead right hand, or he likes to throw the left hook, right hand combination. Impeccable timing.

    Mp v jmm 3

    Jmm - mp

9-10: mp better work in a close round
10-9: jmm good combinations and defence
10-9: controlled round by jmm picking mp apart
9-10: mp moving much better and landing frequently
10-9: jmm much better defence and better clean shots being landed
9-10: brilliant round for mp landing good clean shots.
10-9: close but clear round as both fighters step it up a notch.
10-9: punch perfect timing for jmm showing great defence and timing.
9-10: close round with mp getting the slight nod based on clean shots and effective aggression.
10-9: mp tried nicking the round but left it too late
9-10: jmm takes foot off the gas and mp edges it on aggression
9-10: good final push by mp as he edges the final round.

His boxing ability per se gets a little underplayed. I suppose it's because he's always being compared to Chang.

I haven't seen enough of Gushiken. I only have his fight with Lopez.

Yuh would break Gushiken down IMO.

Beautiful to watch was Yoko, but seemed shaky to me. That Guzman twatted his afro and had him on giddy knees as well as Flores stopping him. Yuh would be stronger down the stretch IMO.

Lora, did I ask you before how you scored the Poontarat-Watanabe fight? (1st one)

How does everyone see the straight-punching Thai Olympian getting on with Khaosai?

I'd need to watch it again to score round by round.i seem to recall watanabe finished strong, had Poonterat shaking a few times and the decision was just, albeit with a number of close rounds in there.Yet another fight that needs a rewatch i suspect.

Have you seen Poonterat vs Orono? That was another close one. i remember thinking Orono was unlucky to lose despite being past his best.

A good fighter though was Poonterat, he'd give Galaxy a tougher challenge than anyone else he fought, though i'm unsure i'd favour him as he seemed to like a flat footed comfort zone for long stretches. He did show quite good mobility and backfoot countering against Espadas. However, guty was small at the weight and never really recovered from the Chan-Hee Park debacle.

I've seen the Espedas and Orono fights, I felt the Thai nicked the Orono fight, although both did well. Orono seemed awkward for the basic (but efficient) Thai, although Poontarat dropped him and won the battle of the jabs I thought.

I had Poontarat winning the 1st Watanabe fight handily, 116-112. I felt Jiro gave away way too many rounds before he actually had any reasonable output. One of his laziest.

Pretty decent brief Gushiken highlight. You would probably like most of his stuff addie.Very good easy on the eye textbook style and good combos.

In a theoretical best vs. best it's hard for me to say, but given a few matches in reality what you say is probably spot on Flea.

Yuh was the more dedicated man and would see the task through to it's completion if they had a series of fights between them.
