Audley's in The Sun today saying Fury is the "one he wants" next year as his comeback fight, anyone else really like the idea of this? Audley vs Fury on Channel 5 could do huge numbers and scoff all you like, you'd definitely watch it and it would be a sell out in somewhere like Wembley, the build up and hype would be amazing lol. As for the fight it could definitely be Fury's stiffest test if Audley Harrison turned up mentally and physically right, I'm actually giving Audley a great shot if this fight does go ahead, Fury looked terrible against Pajkic, wobbled badly by Firtha and I'm not sold on him at all to be quite honest, he's chasing Povetkin for April but tbh he'd get absolutely taken apart if he got in the ring with any of the top 5 contenders imo. Thoughts?
The build up would be painful. Audley’s a joke as a fighter. No one will take him seriously. He makes for awful fights and he’ll witter on about his destiny despite going in the ring against Haye and hoping he wouldn’t punch him. IN A WORLD TITLE CHALLENGE! I wish people would stop talking about him as any sort of factor in anything to do with boxing. But on the fight itself? Fury is dreadful, but he does the one thing Audley can’t stand: comes forward throwing punches. So, short of Audley catching Fury coming in (possible admittedly), Fury will grind the big man down for a stoppage around the ninth round.
Audley is a decent test for Fury. I think if Audley turned up for this one mentally in shape, he'd have a real shot at KO-ing Fury in my opinion. Audley will be looking at sparking Fury as his shot at redemption after his mental breakdown live on Sky Box office. And no doubt he fancies his chances as Fury has been hurt and dropped in his last 2 fights, exposing him as having a less than stellar defence. I doubt Fury takes this fight as I don't think he could live with the embarrassment of being sparked by Audley Harrison.
A-Force would **** this fool up no probs. The fight does seem like a no brainer A-force is getting a lot of love from this dancing thing on the BBC and Fury is popular he is doing a great job promoting himself and getting a lot of attention....Oh I forgot Hennessey is his promoter. Seems to obvious of a fight to make you can guarantee someone will **** It up.
the figures Channel 5 would do for this fight with the right marketing would be absolutely massive. Biggest on terrestrial tv for - 10 years? 15?
Fights decent but will never happen, Hennessy got over 3million watching Fury vs a nobody basically he isnt gonna risk sticking Audley in there. I like Audley but he isnt getting any good fights anytime soon. He needs to work up the ladder.
If this fight goes ahead it will go something like this: After a nervous start from a wide eyed Harrison, Fury lands a right hand momentarily stunning Audley, Fury follows it up with a 3 punch combo, none of them landing, forcing the ref to step in and stop the fight.
I agree it could possibly get good ratings. But I don't believe it would be much of a fight, or much of a challenge for Fury. I think Audley gets stopped within 3 or 4 rounds. That said, as Fury is staying busy, I wouldn't complain about the fight and would certainly watch it.
I doubt this fight happens, fat Mick offered rogan peanuts! I doubt he'll give much more for audley? If it happens I think fury is made for audley stoppage mid rounds.
I think its a great fight, that would put boxing back on the back pages and on terrestrial TV. Also Audley would have a good shot at the upset and the winner will provide a great platform for David Price who is the real deal.
We'd all watch it, it would get a big mainstream audience, and should be an entertaining fight. They're both big blokes who tend to get a bit disorganized under pressure or on the back foot, so hopefully would both come out looking to take the centre of the ring early. At this point, whoever wins would probably see their stock rise a little, particularly Audley. I think it would be an entertaining fight and one of them would win by a stoppage. Flawed as they both are at this point I wouldn't bet money on which one, though. Fury is more aggressive, so I'm probably net Fury. But it depends which Audley turns up.
I could see this being a boring cautious fight. Fury probably edges out a scrappy decision. Audley being petrified at fighting a taller fighter and Fury marginally outworking him. Please do not make this fight!!!
