I was at the MGM for the fight & felt that JMM had just done enough to pinch it, i had him up 7/5 & thats giving him the last round just. Incredible atmosphere & about 75% Pro-Marquez. I have always said that this will be rounds 25-36 & proberbly go the same way as the 2nd fight.

This was a tough fight to score but it's all about what criteria you employ!!!!. Easy to get carried away by "superstar fails to destroy oldman underdog" so "underdog still lives" so gets the round scenario. You can't go by compubox stats, it's a round by round job & i felt that Marquez was in control of the 1st part of the fight & manny came on strong in the 2nd half. I think it was at the end of the 9th i said to myself that Mannys really got to make a strong push towards the line here to catch up & i must admit when the scores where read out i thought it had gone to JMM & when Buffer said & STILL:yikes it went total spastic all around me:lol:

    I'am a full-on ******* & PHEW!! what a relief:hey.

Time for manny to leave the stage me-thinks:yep I'am more than convinced now that his time is short, i think the Margarito fight took more away from him than realised. He took a fearful beating in some of those rounds regardless of pummeling Margo. Against Mosley his size/shape & footwork were a total contrast to the Cotto performence & again against JMM he looked sluggish, off balance, leaden of foot, just as he was in the Mosley fight. He's relying on power now. The waspish angle's of attack are'nt there anymore. He trundles foreward now. This is'nt the pacman of the Cotto fight. All the Politico/TV star lifestyle & charity commitments are having their effect on him & for me now his time is up.

I'd sooner he's walk away now intact than have all he's achieved get flushed down the pan at the hands of a man such as Floyd Mayweather who's ducked him these last 2+ years but who must know surely grow a set of balls & have the urge to call out Pacman.

A tough fight to score at times, as both fighters neutralized each other throughout, but it was Marquez who did the majority of the neutralizing.

Marquez won most of the exchanges, landed the cleaner, harder punches, and fought more of his fight than Pac did his own...

I had it 7-2 with 3 even for Marquez.

Marquez kept cracking Pac with the right hand and body shots. Pacquiao was aggressive, but not effectively so. Could never really get going.

I could see the frustration and anxiety on Marquez' face. He was thinking i know if i don't knock this guy down or hurt him numerous times i'm gonna get robbed, even if i put on a clinic. But if i open up on him and get reckless or greedy like i did in the first two fights, i will get KD'd again.

At first I thought i may have scored it wrong but after re-watching it I can see how some of the rounds were close. I think Pac landed more punches had the faster hands and footwork but Marquez was timing him very well. I think Pacman won it close but clearly and I think Marquez took his foot off the gas and was listening to Nacho B. telling him he was ahead, Yes Marquez did not have to overcome a KD but I had Pacman ahead by the same score as Harold Letterman. Manny Stewart also felt Pacman won.

I was not impressed with Pacman and I think he is slipping and Marquez is far from done. Manny did not dominate like Floyd but Floyd has had his trouble with guys like Castillo and Zab because of styles and I thought Pacman did better than he did with Mosley.

I would suggest you watch the fight again Peter and pretend you don't know the fighters or have any expectations from either and your verdict may possibly change. I have been watching fights for about 45-50 years and are usually in range with my scoring. I will watch it again with an open mind but I can not see how I can give it to Marquez, he was impressive against Pacman but did not do enough to win IMO

Your score is baffling. If you were really stretching you could justify a 115-113 score for Pac. Just barely, if you gave him all the swing rounds. I watched it twice normal speed and once in slow-motion and Marquez clearly took more rounds, landed the most damaging punches, and controlled the distance and pace of the fight. Those last things no one is giving him credit for.

More attention hungry hyperbole from Power Puncher.

At any rate. My prediction for this fight was totally wrong lol I admit after the Mayweather, Diaz, and Katisids fights I thought Marquez was slipping and likely to get overwhelmed by Pacman. Instead he shows up in probably the best shape of his career with the smartest performance of his caeer.

I personally felt it was a close fight that could have gone either way though I have only watched it once. A draw would be the best result but I could see an argument for either fighter. I have nothing to complain about, an unexpected great competitive fight.

    1 - Marquez
    2 - Marquez
    3 - Pacquiao
    4 - Marquez
    5 - Marquez
    6 - Pacquiao
    7 - Marquez
    8 - Marquez
    9 - Pacquiao
    10 - Marquez
    11 - Marquez
    12 - Pacquiao

Marquez, Marquez, Pacquiao. Twice as many rounds. I draw wouldn't be much of a stretch, you could find two of the closer rounds to give to Pac if you wanted to, but three? You'd have to consciously be trying to score for Pac. And 8 rounds for Pac? You'd have to be ****ed in the head. Rounds aside, Marquez controlled the pace (much slower pace than Pac generally sets if he can, he just couldn't), and space (had Pacquiao reaching and landing at the very end of his punches the whole fight) and did more damage.
