I thought he struggled a bit v Australia and made some bad decisions but was v good v NZ. He played well and I think if Widdop was picked beside him England would have a real good halves partnership.

Unbelievable the events that have transpired these past few weeks at Manly.

It'd be a huge loss if the Stewart bros. were to go elsewhere, but I can understand Brett chasing the money to make up for his legal costs.

Thought Dessie looked very awkward and uncomfortable in the blue and white yesterday. Somehow I don't think he's gonna find the same success there as he did at Manly - he's not a part of the culture like he was at Brookie.

Look at Manly's line up from when Des took over... They were solid gold performers. Awesome players. And played well as a team.

Bulldogs on the other hand, a heap of purchases of good players doesn't mean they will gel straight away. Just like Craig Bellamy coaching NSW, good players but couldn't get them to work as a team, they would have been better off putting an NRL team in to play instead of that shocking mismatch of talents.

I personally think Des will struggle for the first season.

Osborne leaving parra will be music to the players ears. They didnt like the bloke....he is a former politician and a member of the hillsong church, i can see why.

And his short history at the club has been filled with scandal and poor decision making. Now they need to get rid of that board...

If the rumours are true & they now want Tony Zappia, then they are just a stupid club, they need a new absolute clean skin, not someone who has been controversial in the past

Hasler didnt inherit a golden group of players when he took over in 2004. The club was in a rebuilding process, similar to what the Bulldogs are going through now. Hasler will implement a seige mentality, similar to what he did at Manly. he has brought enough of his resources with him, and theres no reason why it wont work for him now, like it has in the past.

I was doing a couple of days work at Manly last week, and every local I asked was furious with the board. It's not at all uncommon for a club to put the broom through the ranks in the off season, but Manly may well be the first ever club to do a clean sweep of all its golden staff.

One of my best mates is really good mates with zappia.

Look, he's probably a bit biased but he said tony is a great fella and that sharks " scandal" was simply a crock of ****. The sheila went from joking around and being playful to filing a complaint. Butbits the nature of the job, so he had to cop it sweet.

He was football operations manager under dennis fitzgerald and apparently he used to do all of his work.

Here's the problem...zappia is very tight with some of those italian board members. I reckon they are a self serving board with personal interest and underhand dealings going on. Osborne was obviously cleared of any wrong doing to save face....as long as he resigned. Theyre kidding if they think its not half obvious. Only for pirtek boss to blow the whistle on it.....it would still be going on.

Zappia is apparently a good operator...gallop told him as much but said he needed time out of the game.

See what happens. But i bet if this current board stays the same, its not the last scandal we hear at the club.
