In 2004 Marquez had hell against Pacman that ended up in a draw with Marquez getting knocked down 3 times.

Four year's later in the rematch Manny was a more ''Improved'' fighter and that fight ended up in a SD for Pacman that time Marquez was down only once and clearly won that fight.

Then 3 years later Pacman was a so called a much more ''Improved'' beast which ended getting a MD in a fight which Marquez didn't hit the deck not even once and CLEARLY won and was called robbed by many.

I alway's thought Manny was far more of a beast at the lower weight's then he is now. :bbb

Improved is too strong a word to use, he's more refined then he was. This 'improved a great amount' nonsense was pushed by HBO who knew they had a big star on their hands for years to come so wanted to build him up like the perfect fighter but Marquez brutally slapping off the **** tinted glasses HBO and Arum were forcing everyone to wear has now woken up people up to this reality.

:rofl He isnt improved at all . he has an easier time catching and hurting slightly larger fighters . nothing more or less . He looked axactly the same as always against the little mexican . He is a vicious puncher and always has been . watch his fights . he looks average until he catches the guy clean . at that point he either finishes them or they fight scared and lose a decision like MOSLEY . MARGEZ ( bad spelling ) simply refused to fight scared . Now lets see how the FLOYD thing works out .

The fact is that both Trainers were confident in their gameplans and fighters, but only Nacho's prediction was true. He said before the fight that Pacquiao was a more technical fighter now as opposed to the wild fighter he was earlier. He also stated this would suit Marquez better because it makes Pac more predictable. And what do you know he was right. Too bad Arum's pockets extended further than Nacho or Marquez could have prepared for.

Marquez: I'm not going to leave to the hands of the judges, I'm going to go for the KO. I'm not going to run like coward Mosley .

I'll agree, we saw a too reserved and cautious Pacquiao.

Nacho was right; he's easier to predict.

Pac-Man was fresh out of power pellets if you know what I mean.

It's an interesting point, but there actually is some truth to the idea that Manny trying to fight in a more controlled, technical way makes him easier to deal with. He got to the top and rose to prominence being wild, and being wild does make it harder for the opponent to anticipate what you're going to do next.

I mean, different fighters, but I think Mayorga would have got picked apart and got his ass kicked by Forrest if he tried to tactically box with him. In general, if another guy is more technically skilled than you (and Marquez far exceeds Pac in fundamentals), it's a horrible game plan to try and box with them and fight at their pace. You'll look bad.

Another example: DLH found that out against Whitaker. It wasn't even that DLH was unskilled- far from it- it's just Whitaker was more skilled and DLH decided for whatever reason to fight at Whitaker's pace and make it a more technical fight. Pac/Marquez reminded me of that a little, at least in terms of Pac fighting Marquez's fight.

You mean Pac won PEDs free using skill and not artificial power? Nice input.

I think it had to do with a lot of things. That could have been one of them, along with the decrease in speed, and the fact that counter-punchers generally do better in rematches (hence his knockdown rate going down with each fight.)

It's a catch 22; in my opinion it's best to mix it up, which Pacquiao did in their rematch (I still had him losing but it was a better performance than the first or the third.) Otherwise you're stuck either fighting a fight you can't win over 12 rounds, or risk consistently getting caught and schooled even worse (or even KO'd) for lunging and wildly swinging.
