lol havd McEwan on the brain when mentioning Quillin. Lol. Poor McEwan - with a bit of more preparation might have had a better chance. Still - McQ, er...eh I mean Quillin :) looks like a decent contender:good

I don't get this fight, there are much bigger and better ones out there for Sergio.

If Macklin goes in with the safety first approach it'll be stinker, but if he goes all guns blazing he will get his head taken off.

I can see everyone applauding Macklin's performance on how he "gave Sergio trouble" already, just because he managed to see the middle rounds, just like Barker. :-(

The problem with Barker in the Martinez fight, and another recent example is Narvaez in the Donaire fight, is that they didn't come to win and were very negative and made Donaire and Martinez, respecticely, look like ****. I can see the same scenariao if he fights Macklin.

i dont think barker turned up just for a pay, once he felt martinez's power he struggled to commit, his jab was working really well but barker looked scared to follow it up with combinations, for a slight moment there was an upset on the cards, barker had martinez bloody and puzzled but sergio proved what a great champion he is.

agreed on the point of macklin either making it a stinker hoping to get his hand raised or going for it and getting sparked.

Macklin's manager should be charged with assisted suicide.

to max banjo. I don't get what point your trying to make. Barker was competative and went 11 rounds with Martinez. Getting started means early rounds.

Why do you periodically switch back to your 'Big Dunk' account?

Glad to see Macklin getting the shot. He deserves it after his performance against Sturm. This should be a unification bout if it wasn't for crooked judges. Martinez is a horrible style match up for him though, but I'm sure he'll give it a good go.

I didn't think he was competitive. He was in the fight, but I never got the impression he was going to win at any point.

Barker did well IMO, He created more issues for Sergio then fighters who have boxed at world level for years did. He also managed to make it into the later rounds something i doubt he'd of done if he really opened up. For a debut display on world stage i think he done pretty well. Martinez said kind things after fight i think he was impressed with Barker. I hope Darren gains confidence from that defeat.
