Ok, we're not on the same page here. I never said what you imply (about the 3M offer). Dude, there's plenty of reasons to believe anything. We can either speculate or try to build a reasonable assumption. What we know: Bute made an offer to Kessler (it means that even if it was all a hoax, some papers were filled and a certain amount was authorized). Kessler turned it down (saying it was too little) Now if i really wanted a match, would i not put a counter offer on the table? Its called a negotiation. Most teams tend to use this method for more leverage. Kessler's team did no such thing. What do these facts lead me to believe?
Way to spin it. Johnson beat Allan Green (a replacement) to get to that semi final, don't act as if he'd worked hard to get there. Johnson being in the semi-final was a gift.
The words "Froch" and "duck" don't belong together in the same sentance. All you need do is look at his resume, nuff said....
Why then don't you see it this way: Froch having to reach the finals by beating a guy who shouldn't have been in the semifinals was a huge gift? Or Ward with Bika and Green for that matter?
So please show us your reasons. Do not simply copy and paste Kessler's unworthy blabla as if it were the ultimate truth in the matter. Kessler did not mention any number, neither did Interbox. Yes, the rumored 3.5 M$ used as argument by Pavlik were not so realistic, but a base offer of 750 k$ (to which other important TV-generated incomes should have been added) looks as a good realistic start point for further negotiations (and by no means comparable to a bogus 1 DK -like offer). What did Kessler team with the offer?! Answer: no negotiations, got the Stieglitz deal in no-time, trash talked Interbox/Bute. OK, Kessler is fully entitled to choose an arguably weaker opponent for further tuning-up, but having him unfairly blaming Interbox/Bute when no counter-proposal was made is by no means a classy style behavior. Anyway, you should not take his words for granted.
Bute called him several times, saying he would shut his mouth up. Froch should concentrate on Ward. I don't think he'llwin that one.
Bute didnt want to be in the s6 when he heard all fighters must travel at leadt once.... and Pavlik was a middleweight not a supermiddleweight
The super-six as a tournament has been ****ed from the start, however Froch's run of fights in Abraham, Kessler, Taylor, Dirrell and Pascal is far, far superior to Mendy, Magee, Brinkley, Miranda and Andrade. Taking the tournament setting aside Froch-Ward is the two best super-middles on resume, whether Bute is better than either of them is yet to be seen (I have a feeling he might be, but he's got a long way to go to prove it). Not only this but Froch has fought outside of his comfort zone, Bute needs to fight outside Canada asap, 0% chance he gets Froch or Ward up there, so time to man up and get moving. Ward is in a slightly more fortuitous position as he's American and most big fights tend to go there anyway, so while Bute needs to fight in a new country, Ward just needs to leave Cali. There is a difference between getting one sub par fight by chance within a tournament and picking 5 opponents in a row you really should be past fighting as a 31 year old "World Champion"
Can you copy-paste their article on the matter please? Or a link so I can google-translate? Bat, what do you think of the fact the Bouadla fight got sanctioned for the vacant WBO Euro belt at Sauerland's request, well knowing far ahead that Stieglitz was the champ (e.g. obtaining mandatory status)??
It was on a danish boxingsite. I'll see if I can find the article tonight, but I'm not overly confident as it has been redesigned since. As for Bouadla I think the decision to go the WBO route came rather late as the WBO sanctioning first came into effect a day or so before fighttime. My opinion, and it's only an opinion, is that Sauerland found Interbox offer to be rather low and that they tought it was alright as they where not keen on a Bute fight at this time either. At the same time they found that Stieglitz was a comparatively easier route towards a belt that would give them leverage in future negotiations with Ward/Froch/Bute. PS: It's also my OPINION that Döring's alleged counteroffer didn't happen since Sauerland himself told me that they wouldn't negotiate further with Interbox as they felt they where being lowballed and that Interbox wasn't really interested.
Man, wtf is so hard to understand that the thread here treats the "Bute out of the equation, really" statement that Froch just made? Who on earth said something about Froch not fighting away, not fighting better competition than Bute etc.? He may well have the best record since SRR. I give you all that you want: Bute fought extremely weak opponents, he is stupid, he fights only in his hometown, he ducked Kessler, Stieglitz, Sartison, Bhop, Martinez and Vitali, he talks too much. On the other hand, Froch is a boxing genius, the pure definition of sweet science, a very modest person from which you can learn a lot. We should all let our kids watch his interviews instead sending them to school. ...I give you that and it still doesn't change the fact that Froch can not be an undisputed champion at 168 unless he beats Ward, Bute and rematches Kessler.
And i'm saying for the Bute fight to happen, Bute needs to move the **** out of Canada. He seems unwilling to do so, therefore to blame Froch for it not happening while Bute continues to fight in Canada is unfair. Bute's the one with the track record of fighting no marks in his hometown, not Froch. Bute needs the S6 winner more than the S6 winner needs Bute, and he has no one to blame but himself for that. He could be the next coming of SRR but while hes up in Canada its ****ing irrelevent. Also in my previous post i wasn't addressing the thread as a whole i was addressing the questions YOU asked. Moron.
it doesn't work to post links to *********** and sites like that on here just google it "Kessler Bute $750 Pavlik" "Kessler Stieglitz purses" etc and you'll find various articles on that matter. Butes performance against Johnson was pretty damn good but what I want to see is him winning an actual fight you know not an easy fight were everything goes down according to the plan. I want to see him getting tested properly, whether he's able to overcome difficulties, able to find ways to win, whether hes able to utilize his physical advantages in a real fight, i want to see if has a warriors mentality like someone like Kessler has for example before i'd say hes #1 h2h at 168 or whatever. You know one of the most important things in a combat sport like boxing is physical strength and Bute is the biggest and strongest guy at 168lbs. I thought Johnson would be able to test him properly and i was convinced that Bute would fail. Johnson was still the same guy who fought Froch but imo not the same he was when he fought Cloud for example when he was 20lbs heavier in the ring than he was against Bute. Johnson looked small and harmless compared to Bute, tried to win the fight using his jab. you know when you're strong you use the jab as a range finder at best you throw power punches to utilize your strength and Johnson has always been doing that and walked many good fighters down. but it didn't go the way i thought it would, i was surprised and impressed with Bute. Pacquiao-Marquez recently it was the opposite, Marquez had never been successful above lightweight before, Pacquiao beat the likes of Margarito so most experts thought Marquez would more or less get blown away because there should have been a decent gap in terms of strength this time at the weight they fought but it wasn't the case and the fight went totally different than expected. But however Kessler vs Bute would be an excellent fight and an even fight in my opinion, if Bute wins such a fight a case will be made that hes the #1 at that weight if not by his resume than h2h but as it stands hes up there with the others and thats it pretty much in my opinion.
