atsch Compare the G.J. wins, Bute UD Johnson ( 119-109 ) and Froch UD Johnson ( 116-112 ). Don't say GJ had an off night, He couldn't hit Bute. See you wanna play the stats game I can to. Also he lost to Kessler so he is behind Kessler, Close or not. I'd do the same if Johnson would have bet Bute.
Scenario: Say #4 Froch beats #1/2 Ward, and #3 Kessler beats #8 Stieglitz in dominant fashion to begin yet another reign... Obviously Bute is then #1 whether he was before or not. Who is #2, though? :think Froch or Kessler? The win over #1/2 Ward counts for a lot more than a win over #8 Stieglitz, but Kessler a) began higher b) has the h2h win over Froch and c) still has a pretty good and not altogether meaningless win over a B-level titlist in Stieglitz - and one who's top ten by this list. (just because it isn't a great win like one over Ward doesn't mean it carries no weight at all)

Well spotted. Does anyone know if there's any official word on Abraham - is he staying at super mid or heading back down to 160? I'd love to see him back at middle mixing it up.

I won't get into the Bute thing now. There are plenty of threads on the "correct" relative placement of Bute, Froch and Ward. Pavlik, well...#6 might be a litlte generous but then again how many super middleweights would you confidently tip against him outside the top half dozen or so? :think ...and what's your beef with Ooishuizen cracking a top ten? Rising star in a a weak (as in top-loaded) division.
Pathetic. Ward and Froch are clearly 1 and 2. Bute is that high based on if's and but's. I believe he's the goods and he would beat Froch and perhaps Ward as well. But his record doesn't justify rating him number one. He's been in witness protection, feasting on left-overs, whilst the top guys have been duking it out.
No beef he looks a good prospect, just not sure he deserves to be ranked twice in the top ten...:shock:
What is everyone's top 10. I don't care about your top 3 with Froch Ward and Bute. You can tell me Groves isn't top 10, But why not? He is barley top 10. You could argue he is only Top 15 but it is an opinion.
