Reggie Johnson at (almost) 42 outpointed Julio Gonzalez , 10 years his junior and a much bigger man .
    Jorge Castro , 37 , 10 months & 1 week , stopped Derrick Harmon , 3 years his junior and a much bigger man .
James Toney is still d better choice though , and Arnold Cream also .
But Marquez deserves respect as well , he surprised me just by lasting d distance .
And also , Oliver McCall , at 44 years of age beat Lance Whitaker , 7 years his junior and a much bigger man .
Corrie Sanders' destruction of Wlad Klit was an excellent mention .

Best performance by a 38 year old i've seen?
Shane Mosley, when he became the first ever man to stop Margarito. What a stunning performance it was. Lethal combination of skill and power against a really tough guy who was coming off his biggest career win.

troy browning vs baby face garcia.
anyone remember that one? 40 year old browning was an undefeated welter in the 90's. had a car crash and messed up his right knee. has to retire, works as a garbage man for 8 years. finds hs knee is a little better. decides to go for one more fight. his manager gives him a big fight agaisnt a young up and coming top 10 wbc ranked light middleweight fighter. by the name of julio cesar garcia. who went pro at 15. and grew into a powerfull rangey fighter and 20 years the young man. and with big wins on espn. browning is the 'opponant'

browning does some amazing fients, lateral movement and southpaw 1-2s that frustrates and basicly makes garcia quit when he cant catch him, which his corner got angry with him with. with his manager coming to the ring and talking about how much money you will lose. which didnt help things.

when garcia started charging him for the last round i was screaming RUN KID!!!!

without any shadow of a doubt - at heavyweight - Jersey Joe Walcott in the first Marciano classic - he was absolutely amazing - nothing less than Rocky's greatest ever punch that night would've beaten him on that night

38-year-old Márquez defeated the unstoppable pound-for-pound best fighter in the world.

Pacquiao's run was unprecedented; he was easily battering much larger champions, creating in the mainstream a genuine aura of fierceness and invincibility not seen since perhaps Mike Tyson.

Juan Manuel tamed this juggernaut into harmless ordinariness.

In contrast, Moorer was not considered the fiercest fighter in the world; neither was Mercer; Walcott was felled in the end.

Last Saturday night witnessed an important effort in boxing history.
