Can pacquiao cut off the ring?

Manny can't cut the ring off. You must not know what it means. Give it up. I seen the fight several times and I even said to myself that if Pac could cut off the ring he could win clear as day but he just can't and Marquez was in his ass bc of it.

 

I already explained it to him. Clearly he must be going back to his videos to show us proof that Pac did cut off the ring.

He isn't great at cutting the ring of but I wouldn't say he was that bad either.

Obviously when he comes up against a better boxing brain with someone like Marquez then that job becomes harder to do but to say he can't do it at all is a bit much.

You can cite Mosley as a bad job because Mosley was on the run from the second round but other than the knockdown he wasn't really hurt and I think Pacquaio was wary of his power even if it was evident he was way on the slide (something Mayorga and Margaritto took for granted)

Again against Cotto, he had him done from round 4 but couldn't finish him when he was on the defence for the next 7 and a half rounds but watching it i think he took a step back at around about round 7-8 make and stepped of the gas.

Ill have to rewatch the fights with Barrera, Morales etc to see if he did it earlier in his career but a lot of those guys come forward a lot so there was probably not much need to learn it.

It is definately a problem for him though and most opponents are gonna box of the back foot and try and catch him out after Mosley and Marquez had success doing that (albeit on a very different scale).

Maybes when they go back he should stand still and force them back forward instead of chase them. That way he ****s their gameplan up but will have to reset himself a lot.

cutting off the ring is not similar to lateral movements, therefore, a mannypac leading with his left then steps into his right (to avoid counters) is not similar to mannypac jabbing with his right or leading with his left while making jmm back up and leads him to the ropes. manny cant cut off the ring, else, ODLH, Mosley, Cotto gets TKOed badly.

No he cant because he can't infight once he has his opponent cornered. He needs space as hes a midrange fighter to load up on his shots. Hatton being a pressur fighter didnt use pressure on Pacman instead wanting to trade in the center of the ring. Cutting the ring off is basically preventing your opponent from coming forward or negating lateral movement and corraling or trapping him vs the ropes or corner. Margo and Mosley arent exactly techncians, but would of been stopped by Pacman if he knew how to cut the ring off.

hard to say, against cotto who ran from the 7th onwards apparantly exposed this weakness in pac but didnt win any rounds agains pac. Mosley also apparantly exposed pac the.whole 12 rounds but lost every round to pac...

So hoe important is it for pac when hes still winning against backpedaling opponents? do people give him grief coz he doest look as good running.after someone whilst still dominating the round?

it seems pacs just judged to a higher standard ie. manny didnt ko his opponent because he didnt cut off the ring.. lol
