Maybe you should try it first before talking about the issues. Trust me, its going to be fine.

And to those science freaks who replied to me I can only say try it out too.

I read the part in bold and knew the rest of the post would be utter shite, I was right.

Are you really that dense? Where have I said do not run? Please quote me where I've said the words don't run or running is bad. I've only said you don't have to run to box. I've repeated this so many times it's ridiculous. How can you not understand?

Lets say you have an ankle or knee injury so can't run, you can train but not run. What are you going to do? Quit boxing because you can't run? That's your only option isn't it because a boxer HAS to run in your world?

The people who replied to you have been training for years and are very knowledgable about training, they don't have to try it to know it's a bad idea.

Who told you it's a good idea to run hard regularly to improve your cardio for boxing?

Sounds to me like reading articles on the internet and thinking you know it all before trying it.

Running is a tool, its not boxing.

lol so lets go into the extreme if you have a sholder injury and cant box should you stop training, cant swim, cant lift cant hit the bag.. but yeah i can run so that's what i'll do... and lastly i know you havent said not to run but you keep saying that you dont need running at all to box

well I and 99% of boxers and trainers and experts in conditioning out there will disagree with you.. go ahead train a kid for a fight two three fights without doing any running at all and see what happens..

Millions of people pray to Allah every day. Are they all correct in thinking their god exists? That's milloins of people so they MUST be correct, right? Just because however many people say something doesn't make it true.

Try to answer this question instead of ignoring it again - Are you saying it's 100% impossible to win a boxing match unless you run? It's a straight yes or no question. If you say yes, you're a moron. If you say no, you don't need to run to box. Think about your answer.

Not at all. It's just the stuff I read on this forum, to be blunt, is uneducated bull****, whoever says it.

If one of the more knowledgable guys wants to correct me because I'm wrong, they do. It doesn't happen much because what I say isn't exactly difficult to understand, most is common knowledge in the fitness industry. Just uneducated guys like yourself see this as an attack on the oldschool style, which to be honest I don't care about.

I have tried it many times......

Just not as a core part of my schedule due to the reasons I state. All sessions are good sessions as part of a plan, but if you complete 30mins hard in the morning your performance in the afternoon is affected negatively.

35mins slow/easy run would be better if you were having "quality" boxing training in the same day. If you were trying to improve endurance (to improve this element to get closer to your definition of the "ideal boxer") it would be better to run slow in the AM of most days, have the 30min hard run once every two weeks if you wanted (or weekly if you really want) and have an interval session or fartlek once or twice a week depending on the boxing/gym schedule too. Guarantee after six weeks you'll show huge improvements on the 30min hard run!

I'm not replying to you to be arrogant or try to discredit you, I come on these forums to learn from others and comment with my experiences and lessons I have learned. Thought maybe you would be interested in other opinions, which you could combine with your own knowledge and hopefully improve.

Ok. So you're just going outright refuse to answer the question because you know you're wrong? That's fine. You don't need to say anything else. :good

You don't at all need running to box. It can be useful, but so can other methods of cardio.

Running is not required. Very useful, yes. But required, no. I run and I compete, and everyone I know that competes does in one way (long slow runs) or anothers (interval sprints). I'm sure you could use a stairmaster, swim, play basketball... or something else as a substitute.

It's a traditional form of conditioning. And you know how trainers are in their traditions...
