There were a lot of very close rounds most of which I scored for Marquez.
My grand total was 118-110 for Marquez. The video's sound was off sync with the picture. The Brodcasters was Amir Khan and some other guy, so despite what I beleve about keeping the sound on I had to turn it off.

Marquez was in control during pretty much every round. He keept Pacquiao off balance used both outside boxing skills and effective agresion to confuse the defending champion.

Pacquiao did have his molmets in the fight landing fluries in spots.

Was it a robery? With a score of 118-110, there is a natural response to say absoulty. However it's not that simple. I scored Williams/Lara 118-110 as well. However I don't think that fight was the white wash it was made out to be. Despite being hit by every left hand Lara throw Williams was able to land his own punches. I fell that Marquez was a more clear winner than Lara, but like I said between being outclassed Pacquiao had some very good spots.
While I fell the wrong man got his arm raised, I'm not 100% sure I want to call this a roberry. This has an effect on my pound for pound rankings.
Mayweather was #1 going in and as a result of this fight he holds on to that spot. I don't think Pcquiao the official winner did enough to make up the gap that seprates them. Pacquiao was #2 and since I'm hesent to call this a gift decision he holds the #2 spot. Marquez was #5 behind #3 Donaire & #4 Martinez. Based on his preformance Marquez moves to #3. If I get a chance to watch this again with better aduio and I fell that the result was unfair than based on that and the result of Mayweather/Marquez. Marquez would move to #2, with Pacquiao #3 or #4.

Rip, you refuse to call this fight a robbery, but also dont see the Williams fight a robbery also.:nut

I think your mindset on what constitutes a robbery is flawed.

I'm guessing that you feel that ny fight short of a complete beatdown cant be labeled a robbery.

......you'd want someone to get beatdown to the extent Pacquiao beatdown Margarito and then have that fight go to Margarito before you can constitute any fight a robbery.

You dont have to beatdown a fighter to clearly win a fight.

When you have a situation that aside from the HBO broadcast team who was protecting their own interest, that almost everyone to a man at ringside had Marquez winning the fight and hoards of them by wide margins...
......and you have Pacquiao's hand being raised in victory, that my friend is the definition of a robbery.

For the life of me I cant believe you dont think Lara wasnt robbed vs Williams.
Willaims was being shook to his boots in just about every round of that fight while he (Williams) landed mostly nothing but ineffective pity pats.

This is'nt amatuer boxing Rip, where a half assed touch on the head would be placed at the same value as a right hand bomb landed right down the pike.

I understand what your saying, but I don't agree. I thought six of the rounds were pretty close with Marquez being a little bit better in five of them. Lets say that I scored all those rounds even. This if my math is correct would make the score 119-115 for Marquez, or 6-0-6. I fell that there were too many close rounds to scream robbery. Had I given Marquez 7 I would have been more inclined more so with 8 or more.
At one point watching the fight I was thinking this was a replay of Chavez/Whitaker which in my opinion was a clear win for Whitaker and a robbery. Whitaker is a lot better than Marquez.
Perhapps with futher viewing of the fight I may conclude that Marquez was indeed robbed. However, for now I think that is open for debate.

Divac, out of interest, have you watched this with the Primetime UK commentary and post fight reaction (Bunce, Collins, Kerr) ?? ...... if not I'd recommend!

Ripcity, I had it 118-112 Marquez, I agree it was difficult to score though, I gave Marquez the nod on many rounds because he was landing with cleaner punches.

Also thought Pacquiao wasn't as bad as people are making out, the decision was bad, Pacquiao contributed to a fight I thouroughly enjoyed!

How is that high and might Mr.....whoever the **** you are dick riding Rip?

Look, I don't expect an ass like you to agree with me, or disagree with a floyd fanboy. You're programmed to stick to your side.

Besides, IF you want to actually ask me about my post rather then come off like Rip's angry girlfriend, answer this. Scorine ALL close rounds for JMM...that doesn't sound one bit odd to you? :huh I mean...ALL of them?

Are you trying to achieve something with this? Is the fact that Marquez got robbed not obvious to you? Who cares how ripcity scored it- he doesnt know **** about boxing. The fact is that Marquez won 8-4 (IMO).You want to downplay this and make this fight look like a Pac victory and that is bull****. So in conclusion you can go **** yourself, as you are not a clever or witty as you think you are.
