I have a sneaky feeling that they are delaying as long as possible for age reasons. Come February Floyd will be 35, Roach has already said he though JMM was over the hill and his age would be an issue. I think they are delaying the fight as long as possible so Floyd is as past his best as possible.
If Manny-Marquez did indeed do 1.5 mil PPV's or more Arums going to make the IV fight first. Less risk and equal or more cash. The PBF fight will still be huge regardless of the result, makes sense. I don't buy the "waiting for Floyd to slow" argument. Floyd has already shown great adaption as he gets older. Add to this the fact he's not fighting 2-3 times a year he's in great shape come fight time.
No, but after Pac loses to Mayweather, his future value will definitely depreciate. Arum knows this and is milking the pony for as long as he can.
You crazy man, it's the complete opposite. A 4th fight with Marquez will always be there even if he loses bad to Mayweather because they have that history and the last controversial fight. It could leave Manny with the possibility to save face ending his career off with a big win over his biggest rival. Manny losing to Mayweather first wouldn't hurt the Marquez fight to close out his career big because most expect Mayweather to win anyways but if Manny fights Marquez and loses again or gets a another close fight it will erase most of the hype for a Mayweather fight and that fight wouldn't be close to as big. Even right now most experts are writing off Manny's chances vs Mayweather, another unspectacular performance vs Marquez and no one will think Manny even has remote chance at beating Mayweather and the fight will have lost all its luster.
