1 - I'd need to rewatch. This fight reminds me of Marquez vs Barrera. Some rounds are simply impossible to have a strong conviction on.

2 - Put simply, I'd have no quarrel with anyone who now has Mayweather above Pacquiao, because Floyd has barely lost a round in his last three while Pac didn't look overly impressive against Mosley despite his dominance and has now had a really close fight. Before last week, I'd have said there's no argument for having Floyd higher, but I suppose there is now because current form is of extreme importance to p4p rankings. However, personally I still have Manny higher because (a) he beat Mosley so widely on the cards and shouldn't be held accountable for a dull fight and for Mosley's shameful tactics, (b) I don't really rate Floyd's win over Marquez because of the circumstances, and most of all (c) the unsatisfactory abortion of the Mayweather vs Ortiz fight. Even though PBF was looking superb early on, he basically turned the fight into a No Contest by choosing to end it in that way rather than punish Ortiz and win in a more conventional manner.

Pacquiao and Marquez are the exact same size and both are HOF-calibre boxers, and both were in superb shape. Those two having a close fight is not a huge black mark against Pacquiao, same as Ali having a close fight with Frazier wasn't a black mark either. It's not as if Manny had to go life and death with Juan Diaz or someone like that.

After 3 fights, there's no clear winner for me. One of them needs to be stopped in order to identify the clear winner. I had JMM by TKO11 going into this fight cause he had the better preparation and focus than manny giing into fight that's why I wasn't surprissed with the fight afterwards.

I think I expected less from manny and more from JMM and JMM did as expected. That fight was Marquez' game. Manny faired better than I expected in a tactical fight but that wasn't the right gameplan to beat JMM imo. He should have brawled with him. Pay the price but win by KO, he can't outsmart JMM.

Anyway, I had it a draw. I had no problem if it was given JMM anyway but getting a decision is not the way of becoming a clear winner between the two. One of them needs to be stopped imo

What make you think you are less bias than me or the judges? Some people saw it differently and thats how I saw it after close inspection. If some want to give it to jmm then I have no problems with it, what I dont get is the constant cry of robbery because I didnt think so.

    1) totally agree. I only go off my cards when evaluating a fighter but this was no robbery.

    2) agree again; it was more a testament of how little credit marquez was getting imo and I feel ridiculous for writing off a man as obviously great as he. Their battles have been titanic and underline the fighting spirit of each man imo. I do have floyd top though, I just can't fathom an active boxer defeating him at ww today.

Fair??? Are you saying that I should give an even distribution of close rounds? Are you saying that when I have a close round I should look at my scorecard and see just how many close rounds I gave to each fighter and base my decision on who I give the round to on that??? Are you saying that I should put a little asterisk above each close round so I can more easily go back and count my close rounds as to assure a more fair distribution of close rounds????

Close rounds almost always go to the aggressor. Manny was the aggressor he won the close rounds. There is no such thing as a fair!!!!

Ehm ... does this not ... kind of make sense? :huh This is ESB, fella. Conspiracy is fine, crying robbery is fine, saying someone was exposed goes as well. Take your boring reality post somewhere else.

I pick who won the most scientific way: look at the people arguing in General threads, see which side has better looking females in their avatars, pick accordingly.

I need a haircut. Arcane's avatar is sexy. I'm gonna go ahead and pick Marquez.

Personally, I came out with a split decision. I scored it three times and one of those times I was eating some chips and salsa and drinking a Mickey's so I wasn't really into it, that was the Pacquiao scorecard. The other two times I watched most of the rounds though.

People are reducing this fight to 'punches landed' because it favors Pacquiao. Doesn't mean he landed better shots, lots of his shots were arm punches and didn't land well. Marquez landed better punches and controlled the action throughout, Pacquiao was playing Marquez's game completely. Looked uncomfortable and was out of his element. That's called ring generalship.
