    Khaosai Galaxy Vs Kongtonaree Payakaroon (WBA 115lb title)

    KHAOSAI: 2; 3; 6; 7; 9; 11; 12
    KONGTONAREE: 1; 4; 5(+1); 8; 10;

    GALAXY 114-113 PAYAKAROON

    The two less capable brothers of two of Thailands most intriguing stylists, Galaxy, the long-reigning Super Fly titlist defended against Kongtonaree, who had beaten Payao Poonterat via decision in only his second boxing contest and convinced the Olympian to retire.

    Galaxy looked sloppier than ever here, as Kongtonaree, a similarly succesful Nak Muay (5 weight Lumpinee champion) as his younger brother Samart, employed a similar style to his more succesful International Boxing Brother, employing constant lateral movement. Unlike Samart, Kong had a far less capable offence, at least here, where he safely evades Khaosai throughout and has some success in close rounds with his more accurate punching.

    Khaosai gets tired and frustrated, and looked slow thoughout against his nimble and smaller foe, who really showed up Galaxys awful balance, plodding feet and lack of handspeed as well as anyone.

    Khaosai relied on outworking Payakaroon, although he didn't really bludgeon him all that much. Payakaroon had a good 5th, scoring a flash knockdown with a right hand as he stepped to the side and left Khaosai in his wake.

    Khaosai came forward always, as ever. Decent fight, competitive, but Payakroon didn't punch enough to win IMO.

    Funnily enough I read an interview with him today and realised I've sat about a foot away from him on a couple of occasions. Hopefully I can formally meet him on my next trip, providing he still referees exhibitions at the same bar.

    I had that 115-112 to Marquez, don't have my rounds handy though, definitely felt JMM won though.

    He's clearly been Pac's superior in their 3 fights IMO.

    No fighter is perfect Addie. Without the Jones fights, Barrera wouldn't get as much credit from me for his resurgance against Morales and up at 126 :good Jones was a good fighter, no shame in that.

    Maybe he was trying to deliberately antagonise you (I don't know or you two having any previous) but I assumed you was over dramatically defending Barrera for comic effect. Apologies for misconstruing your intentions.

    No, you're right. I was being overly dramatic for comedy value, but I then decided to carry it on after reading his lame reply. I do think Tommy was purposefully trying to get a rise out of me though. He doesn't like me much after I called him a clown for suggesting Zaragoza was prime in '97.

    Addie I don't get sexual enjoyment out of boxing like you. Jones always had Barrera's number. Get that through your head. And also I would never just negatively post about Barrera indirectly just to get your attention. I would PM you and bug you that way. The fact that you think I'm trying to get to you like this, is LAUGHABLE. It shows how insecure about Barrera you are. Clown

    He was prime in '97, primed to be shown up for how badly he was deteriorated.
