If Interbox really wanted to see Bute vs. Kessler surely they'd have made a useful offer. I'm, perhaps not surprisingly, inclined to think Arum was right about the 750K offer for Kessler. Otherwise Interbox would have stenously denied the claim and published their offer. Since they didn't Arum's claim stands.

Right on. I would hate to see Andrade III/George get signed personally, and I'm thinking he gets 1 -hopefully 2- of Froch/Ward/Kessler within the next 12-14 months.

With all the Bute build-up done by Showtime, Quebec media, the fact he'll be talked about during and after the S6 finale... there's no way Bute doesn't fight either Ward or Froch in 2012. Too much pressure, too much will, too much fukkin money too. It makes sense, in all aspects of the situation.

On a side note, you might be right about Green. 173 last fight, well within LHW second last fight, doesn't look good.

I know Sartison is a borderline gimme fight, but still a jab towards Sauerland if Interbox get him to fight Bute in Montreal say in March/April. Sartison is an SES (or Universum) fighter, right? Declined $400K initially (same time last year) but has gotten nowhere since... come on Sarts, how 'bout $500K for some Bute Body Shots (BBS)?

    :D

    And the Scene says...

Promoter Bob Arum freely admits that Pavlik, who gave no reason for canceling the Cunningham fight other than not wanting to do it, has been angry about a published report that claims former super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler was going to get $3.5 million to fight Bute, the Romanian now based in Montreal.

"That information about Kessler is wrong, it is false," Arum said. "I don't know why Pavlik does not want to fight and neither does his father or his manager. But I say this, if he doesn't want to fight, then why push him? This is a hard business, a tough business."

"If he wants to fight again, and I don't know if he does, then who would want to rely on him? This isn't the first time this kind of thing happened. The money thing, the thing about Kessler, is just an excuse for Kelly. He just said, 'I'm not going to fight.' No more, no less than that.

"I am more saddened by this than anything. People in his hometown, they're not behind Kelly any more. He was getting a 60-40 split against Bute and he was getting 82 percent of our share of the money. He was guaranteed $1.35 million," the 79 year old promoter said.

"I have to think there is something, something mentally amiss here. That purse mentioned for Kessler is just ludicrous."

...Bat, post Arum's claim of "750K for Kessler" please. Right now it doesn't make sense to think that way, because the offer Interbox & TR agreed upon was a 60-40 split guaranteeing 1.35M to Pavlik in the end. Considering how Kessler is viewed by Quebec fans / Bute supporters, you go ahead and prove that Kessler was only guaranteed 750K with the offer Interbox made.

If you won't / can't, you're just speculating and that's fine. If I were to dish out some random number, I'd say Kessler was prolly guaranteed 2M to come to Canada if drunken downhill Pavlik was getting 1.35M. Kessler is, and has always been the biggest fish in the pond from Interbox's standpoint. Nobody can argue that.

Funny you asked the same to a known hater recently, for some reason. :think

It would tell me a first -and only- offer from Interbox to Sauerland earning Kessler 750K as a guaranteed baseline is lower than a "final" offer so to speak which would amount to -again IMO- around 2M, but still better than "1 Danish Krone" ;)

Let's assume that first & only, 750K offer got countered as you say. Why not disclose the amounts then? Why not disclose the %-% split numbers?

60-40 split official for Bute-Pavlik, why not give the same to Sauerland? That being said, if 1.35M > offer made to Kessler, you're gonna tell me Kessler represents less total revenues than Pavlik, fighting Bute in Montreal that is? Hmm no, you'd have a very hard time trying to reason against that.

Nice. And come on man, that doesn't help your point at all.

750K + a part of 2M from Showtime + all Danish TV revenues... plus maybe a small % of the gate.

For a first offer, one for which the alleged counter offer was not detailed in the media, it's a pretty good one. Not "1 Danish Krone" by any means.

    Don't you agree?! :think

Not at all. It equals a 70/30 split in Bute's favour for a fight in Montreal. It's a joke man.
