Ive only just started boxing a month ago and Im loving it, I have my first fight in January.

I have sparred a few times before with a headguard and I seem to do well. Today on the other hand I sparred without head protection and I was hit a few times around the head, not too badly, but just enough to make me wake up.

During the session I was fine and doing quite well but afterwards I felt slightly dizzy and my head seems a bit tired. Its not a headache though.

Is this normal to feel this way after a sparring session?

    Any feedback is appreciated :good

I had same problem but found it was down to taking my fitness levels to a different level, lack of fluid prior and during training and not consuming enough calories. Was running on empty.

I drank ridiculous amounts of water afterwards and I do feel better. I'm not sure if it was a concussion, probably was just as you described it.

From my experience it's normal. You should try to wear headgear every time out, but slight dizziness or aching or light-headedness is normal. Work on that D and make sure you see the punches coming.

Padding is pretty important. Try to keep a few days between sparring. Brain health is important

Just make sure you take a break until you feel right. Don't spar too hard - too often and if it persists, go and see a doctor. I doubt it's anything serious, but it's always best to make sure.

Don't Box as soon as that, chances are you'll get hurt. Learn what you're doing first.

I often feel pretty 'cloudy' headed after sparring, depending on how many times i got smacked in the head that particular day.
