What do Brits think of Marco Antonio Barrera

All time great, legend in every respect.

I'm not a starry eyed type at all. But I was proud to shake his hand.

 

An all around solid professional.

But a bit of a sucker for a right hand.

 

Morales landed very few great right hands over the course of three fights.

 

Poor mans Eusebio Pedroza.

Naz was big with Casual Boxing fans, I remember watching with a crowd of mates and was the only one who had money on Barrera to win. I was super-confident MAB would do a number on Naz and really enjoyed the fight and watching reality sink in with them

Also remember telling the same crowd about a year later that Eamonn McGhee would give Hatton problems, they laughed until Hatton got put on his ass in round one :yep

I always perceived that he had the same appeal to the general public in the UK that Mayweather has (for the most part) here in the US - people tuning in wanting to finally see someone shut his mouth and humble him in defeat.

 

Not from what I can remember, everyone liked Naz and wanted to see him knock people out.

Dont get me wrong, his ring entrance in that Barrera fight raised a few eyebrows with the crowd I was with and by the end of the fight they were all Barrera fans :yep

 

Naz had a large casual following but at same time there was many who hated him. For various reasons some being more decent then others...

I for one always tuned in hoping someone would humble him, MAB answered those wishes!.
