People think Cotto will beat Margarito because they believe in God. They have faith that good prevails over evil but that isn't always the case.

I don't think Antonio Margarito can fight at the same level as he had done in the first fight. Even slower than before, less agile, and can't take the same punishing shots as well. Cotto, although not as his best either, still has enough to outbox Margarito to same degree he had done in the first half of their last fight. He'll have some rough patches, but I favour Cotto to outbox Margarito conclusively before stopping him late.

Slightly ambitious pick, but I think Margarito is considerably faded, and this was before he even took that ridiculous beating against Manny Pacquiao. I'm going with Miguel.

Cotto took a beating against Margarito first time around and against Pacquiao. It could be looked at as Arum wanting to cash out on Cotto, especially if you consider the fact that the fight was set in NYC...Arum is trying to squeeze the last ounce of money juice out of Cotto.

Cotto barley took out Mayorga late. No way in hell he is taking out Margarito.

But couldn't it be argued that it is easier to maintain a sluggers style such as Margarito's at an older age than it is to maintain a more finese boxing style such as Cottos who relies on speed, movement, feet positioning. Margarito's chin will not be any different now than it was last time and Cotto's punching power won't be any better now.

Mayorga may well have been in better shape physically and mentally for his fight with Cotto than Margarito will be in this one. You can't discount Margarito's circumstances. The man was beaten very badly in his last outing which was a year ago now. He has major issues with his eye. Margarito was declining even before all of these things happened.

I fully understand that my pick is ambitious, but Margarito is a question mark headed into this fight. Anyone expecting the same dude from the first Cotto fight to show up is out of their freakin' mind.

What evidence is there to suggest Antonio Margarito possesses the same level of punch resistance as he had prior to getting butchered by Shane Mosley and Manny Pacquiao? There are countless examples throughout history of supposed iron chinned fighters suddenly becoming fragile after getting stopped for the first time. Margarito's eye is royalled ****ed. He's clearly slower and less agile than he had been, in my opinion. You can't expect him to simply walk through Cotto's sharp punching again, I don't think that will happen.

Cotto is going to have a stationary target to aim at, and he'll find it a lot easier to outmaneuver him this time. Watch Margarito get off against Golden Johnson and then watch him in his fight with Manny Pacquiao. It's true, the levels of competition are noncomparable, but Margarito should still be able to let his hands go with the same level of conviction and ferocity. He wasn't able to. Physically, Margarito is a very unimpressive nowadays.
