I went through his entire fight collection while making my most recent highlight video, and can't say I saw him legitimately HURT from a punch one time. I know many of you will be quick to say that right hand that Hearns caught him with in the first 10 seconds hurt him, but really, did it? He went back to trading punches with him 2 seconds later, and 10 seconds later was was unleashing a nonstop assault on The Hitman like nothing happened...

I'm not talking about stunned, I am talking about HURT. I can't recall any fighter other than Hagler not being clearly hurt a single time in a boxing match.

If you listened to Cosell, during Antufermo I, he was hurt every ten seconds, but he didn't show it.

The most legitimately hurt I ever saw him was wen Hearns landed that right to the temple early in the first round. He was shaken then, no question though not in any danger of it being stopped.

Yea, that is about the best thing I think we are gonna come up with...unbelievable that the hardest p4p right hand in history, lands flush on his chin and the best it does is stun him for a millisecond.

Eugene Hart had him covering up for a good portion of a round after landing shots.

True. Hart buzzed him too, though not as badly as Hearns had him.

Roldan was sort of like a mini Foreman, not much in terms of crispness and technique, but he was just so strong. Same with Mugabi, they just occasionally pushed Marvin back occasionally rather than really hurting him.

    Hagler was the ****.

Sorry, there's just no other way to put it. Greatest Chin Ever in my book too.

Hagler was composed and obviously not stumbling around like a drunk or anything. But he did go into a shell and recover, which I guess qualifies being hurt for Hagler

I hear he was hurt early in his career by Dornell Wigfall. I can't remember if it was in the ring or some fist fight outside of the ring. Something about Hagler rolling under acar? :dead:lol:

He was indeed badly rocked in his first fight with Donell Wigfall in the early stages of his career. Wigfall, incidentally, was the guy who motivated Hagler to enter a boxing gym in the first place. As the story goes, he beat a young Marvin down on the street and stole a jacket from him. Hagler got revenge by beating him twice as a pro, stopping him the second time around.

Rolled under a car? Sounds like a knockdown to me :bart

Does anyone have any info about his first fight with Willie The Worm? Maybe PhillyPhan. I recall reading that it was a decisive victory and that Monroe had him bleeding from the nose. Haven't seen the fight though, so I can't say if he was visibly hurt.
