Who cares about yahoo though? even the scene has more value Ring is what matters and peoples individual lists for me.
true. the ring has more international panel than yahoo i think which is composed mostly of american scribes. that would explain why yahoo's ranking mostly have americans in their top 10.
I had Pac. @ P4P #1 and would reevaluate after the Marquez fight. Though I had Pac. winning the fight, I have elevated Floyd to #1 now, based on his great performances in his last 3 fights, and the fact that he handled Marquez much better than Pac. did. To reqain #1, Pac. has to do is make the fight with Floyd and beat him.
Nothing is written in stone but I believe PAC is still sitting up top the P4P rankings. Everyone was surprised that PAC did not dominate in his controversial victory over Juan....JMM proved two things in that performance. One... that he's still deserving of being among the P4P best and Two...he will always have that style which will give Manny problems. On the other side of the coin it's also safe to say PAC give Juan all that he can handle in the style he brings as well. The problem I see with clarity AFTER the dust has settled and the smoke cleared is this... Juan came in with the proper mindset and approach to the 3rd fight with PAC. Nacho and Juan knew they'd have to have a fresh game plan and fresh ideas to how they moved up to face the 2012 version of PAC. PAC, Roach and Ariza knew that they were going to dominate, destroy and end this rivalry before camp started. They all went into camp lacking the respect for Juan and Nacho as their equal and while I know PAC did NOT lack intensity in his preparations for Juan..... I don't believe they approached the strategy or game plan with a lot of critical thinking. I think PAC needs to fight Floyd... Floyd is ready now so he should strike while the iron is hot! Juan is an option after the fight...win, lose or draw against Mayweather. I FULLY believe that the PAC we saw recently would lose to Floyd....but I highly doubt they'd approach a fight with Mayweather the same way they did for Juan....not so much as the conditioning aspect but more on the end of Freddie and strategy and game plan he'd layout for PAC. I'm sure the EXPECTED challenge would bring out the best in PAC who may have become a tad bit complacent.
Pac doesnt need to rebound. He still looks fast and powerful to me. What people need to understand is that Pac will never be destroyer Pac against technical/tactical boxers. People just need to tone down their expectations when Pac fights "boxers". Pac has proven he can still win those fights...just not in spectacular fashion. Match Pac with say Brandon Rios....and watch him tear him a new ass and you'll still see relatively the same all-action fan-friendly p4p rated fighter he had been the past few years.
Pac doesn't need to rebound in the p4p rankings. He never lost to JMM. Sometimes, hype clouds the opinion of the fans. Before the Pac vs JMM fight, there was a big hype about pac destroying Marquez because of Pac's improvements in the ring. I was one of them who believed that Pac would easily beat Marquez. The hype was so big that the odds were 9-1. When the bell rang, I was in a cluster**** of reality knowing that the fight that I was expecting, Pac beating Marquez easily, all of a sudden changed although Pac showed that he wasn't as wreck-less as before, Pac was very balanced and his speed and power was felt by JMM early in the fight. Because of the hype, a lot of fans, including the media, fell for it. Our expectation of Pac in that fight was so high, we disregarded JMM's great ability to counter and box. We have completely forgotten that styles makes fights and knowing that Marquez already fought Pac twice before, Marquez already knew how Pac is in the ring. This is the reason why Pac's achievements are being ridiculed. Because the hype that Pac would completely beat JMM in a one sided fight did not happen. This is also the reason why there are a lot of others who saw the fight last saturday, when they saw the replay, had a change of thoughts regarding the fight. A lot of them saw it clear that Pac was actually doing a lot better than the first time they saw the third fight.
Problem is, they are not marquez. Marquez knows how Pac fights. I wouldn't say Floyd would use what Marquez did to Pac because their style is much much different.
The guys that can do what Marquez 'n Floyd can don't grow on trees. Many have known it along time -- 'specially after the first Morales fight, but it takes a special skill set.
Simple. **** I'll put him over Floyd if he fights and beats Martinez next and Floyd fights someone less worthy.
Remember that Pac beat Floyds opponents much more impressively. AND also fought the 3 people Floyd hasn't fight, which happen to be the cream of the WW division back then: Margharito, Clottey and Cotto.
