What does Rico Ramos need to do to secure victory over Rigondeaux?

They fight on Dec. 31st. Ramos was down on the cards in his last fight against Shimoda before scoring a KO via left hook. Rigondeaux has only boxed ONE round in the last TWO years, so I'm wondering if ring rust will play a role in this fight. I think Ramos has a very good shot at winning this fight if he can keep his wits about him. If Cordoba floored Rigondeaux, there's no doubt in my mind that Ramos can put him down, too.

    Cordoba floored who? :rofl

Cordoba received a Cuban boxing class by the Cuban legend Mr Rigondeaux. Yeah he slightly hit Rigo in the head and Rigo lost some balance and touched the floor with his right glove, give me a break how can you call that being " floored " ???

Trust me, Ramos will also receive his Cuban boxing lessons, something in style these days! :yep

You better hope and pray that Rigondeaux doesn't bring his rustiness into the ring. One round in two years....tsk tsk.

Oh, it seems you forgot who you are talking about here. Even a rusty and out of shape Rigo can still take Ramos to school with one arm tied behind his back. Easy work ...

    The Cubans are back. ;)

I'm looking for some objective analysis...not fan boy dick sucking. If your boy was so great, he wouldn't be sitting idle so much. Seems to lack desire to fight.

He has to stop him. (which is unlikely)

Ramos isn't outpointing Rigondeaux, no matter the judges' panel.

Just want to say that I made a mistake on Rig's inactivity...I hastily looked at his Boxrec page and he has only fought one round in the last year, not two years. My bad.

The fight is practically in Ramos' backyard--Anaheim, CA. He could very well earn a decision.

To answer the question, he should hang back and turn it into a tactical battle in the early going, and then accelerate in the latter portion of the fight. Not saying this strategy will be successful, but it's the best approach to take against someone who does better against come forward fighters and who did fade after a good start against Cordoba.
