He was past prime against tarver in the first fight and dug deep.

In the rematch tarver landed a beauty.

By the time jones fought johnson it's obvious he's shot.

Since the johnson fight what's he done? Lose to tarver by near shutout, beat two no marks and a retired middleweight, lose to joe, beat sheika and jeff, lose to green, hopkins and lebedev both by knockout.

Jones is terribly shot and is getting noticeably worse.

Anyone thinking he was up against dennis is crazy btw.

Why No? Roy never did much at SMW to prove otherwise.
All the same please lets not bring Calzaghe into this one. Lets talk Jones Jnr

Valid points and factually correct but you have to analyse it with a bit more scrutiny.Roy was considered for a time the most talented fighter since Ray Leonard, lofty praise but for a change with some justification.I don't think the Trinidad Roy fought was anything like the live contender of old.I always felt Roy's problem was he probably reached his physical peak at LHW,a division which with all due respect, didn't contain the names that you would hope would be on the resume of a true crossover ATG.I think he went stale there, and there really isn't much of a case for arguing that it was downhill all the way after Ruiz.Statistically you are spot on,but you have to scratch the surface and look a bit deeper here.

What prime Toney who couldnt beat S Williams, looked lucky against Tiberi and couldnt beat Thadzi or in his fight after Jones couldnt beat novice midget M Griffin . Yeah top draw. How many SDs had Toney fought to then .
Toneys best win was a come from behind win in a fight he was losing (Nunn).
Was Hopkins prime? What having his first world title fight and then needing another 2 attempts after to win a world title after only being able to draw with Mercado and being floored twice and having to hold on . Thats prime is it:patsch

Is the biggest troll ever he truly is in love with Joe, every fighter Joe ever faced was prime, if Joe had beat up Ali yesterday he would come here and say Joe beat prime Ali :rofl

I agree with the second part, but Joe didn't do a great deal for the vast majority of his reign either.

The Jones from the Tito and Calzaghe fights is much better than todays version.
Roy is about 20-25% of what he was in his prime.

The Tarver KO shot him. He's so gunshy and weak now. His legs are gone and he has a soft spot on his head. He's a shot fighter.
