LMFAO! This is ironic considering he trains a guy that just fought at a catchweight in his last fight!atsch I have to give it to team Pac, the sure can teach you a thing on contradicitons!:rofl
Roach is funny... **** Pac's team as a whole has been putting their foots in their mouths lately. But no worries, I'm sure someone on ESB will come defend what he's said if they haven't already. Shameful ****.
No it's cool, I understand. It's just that some floyd fanboy by the name of boxing fanatic made the challenge he'd leave the board forever if it was proven DLH vs. Pac was not a catchweight fight. Obviously both guys came under the 147 limit, so I'm pretty sure that was all he knew of. ANyway, there were about 5-10 articles showing it was contracted at 147, while only wikipedia said 145 (with no source material BTW). At the time it was made, DLH still had all the negotiating leverage over Pac. Pac wasn't in the position to make too many demands on DLH.
I think catch-weights are fine when trying to meet in a middle to take away an advantage. I dislike them when they are used to disadvantage a fighter though. Roach has shown he is a hippocrate consistently over the years.
Was it? I know Mosley said he'd go down to 140 to face Pac. But they untlimately said they weren't interested in Shane at the time. Instead, they fought the dude who beat Shane. Roach is the trainer. Chavez Jr's manager and promoter are the ones posters should direct your anger towards. But we both know Chavez Jr and Martinez won't happen soon. And honestly, I don't see the need. Chavez jr isn't the MW champ. Just a contender with a belt. But ESPECIALLY if they are looking to fight Canelo before Matinez.
Obviously catchweights work when the matchup works for them. People are going to think what they think. And it's usually idiots who make the biggest fuss over what amounts to nothing.
That's right. TRAINS THEM. No, that would be Floyd 'Sometimes I contradict myself" mayweather Jr. What you are doing it taking statements from various people in their party and attributing it to one person. Something you floyd fans have done from the beginning. But when Roger or Sr. says something, you are quick to point out WHO said it. Consistency Rudy...consistency. :deal
You mean idiots like Pacquiao's team, who made a fuss over Cotto not coming in over 145? I get what youre saying about the people who make the decisions but I just dont buy that Pacquiao was this powerless little victim who had to accept whatever he was told regarding the weight stips. If Chavez Jr ducks Martinez it'll speak volumes, especially if he chases the JUNIOR middleweight Alvarez. I've no respect for JCC Jr while he trades off his dad's name and picks off bums and smaller guys.
The ****ed up thing is, i actually have to explain to you WHY? :huh Look at who I replied to, and what I stated. There was a reason for it. It wasn't just 'out of the blue'.
:huh I am not sure what you mean here. Pac's team made a fuss over Cotto NOT coming in OVER 145? You mean they SHOULD have made a fuss over Cotto weighing what he was contracted to? No one said Pac was powerless here. But fighters fight. Trainers train. And managers and promoters make the fights. Most articles I have read on Chavez jr. and Martinez state the same thing, he simply isn't ready for someone like Martinez yet. Which is why the biggest push for the fioght comes from Martinez, not the fans or many people else. Martinez beating Chavez jr does nothing but give hinm a healthy payday, while chavez just gets a beating. Fact of the matter is, aside from 6 pounds, Chavez Jr is MUCH closer to Canelo then Martinez.
Really? But you are right, I do struggle with explaining the simplest things to total idiots. Perhaps I don't have the patience to deal with thick headed fanboys. Glad you chimed in. :thumbsup
