What did Jones JR do to be considered a demigod?

When he was at his best no one in the world was capable of doing what he could do. His athletic ability was just beyond what was considered possible. It was something to admire, similar to watching Michael Phelps or Usain Bolt. All of the great fighters I can think of are defined by their skills rather than their athletic ability but Jones was different. He has skills but his athletic ability is what made him great.

He dominated guys like few ever have. He could hit you with either hand, in any area, but you couldn't hit him. He actually closed the show and knocked guys out when he had the opportunity.

Grab a pizza, a couple of friends, and a few beverages then fire up youtube.

He was a closer until he saw what happened to Gerald Mclellan. I believe he took his foot of the gas after that a little bit, and was a bit reluctant to really try to hurt people. He would do it if you forced the issue, but didn't mind coasting to the decision win.

I remember him looking at the ref and asking him "are you going to stop this?" when he had Paz up against the ropes.

Was Pele really so special? What's the deal? I don't get it. People say all the time "Pele was a God!", but was he really?

It's the same with Roger Federer. People go nuts over the guy. I don't see anything special.

It's like that guy Shakespeare. I mean, Shakespeare festivals, readings, plays, all this Shakespeare crap -- and for what? I don't see the big deal. What am I missing?

It's kind of like that dude Einstein. I mean, why do people think he's so great? Was he really that smart? I just don't get it.

Watching Roy has been one of the greatest experiences in boxing I've ever had. He could do things in the ring that absolutely no one else could. At 168lbs... wow.
