Pacquaio's Greatest Win vs Floyd's Greatest Win

I think Manny's best win is MAB and Floyd's is Chico. I think Manny's win is better legacy wise but Floyd's performance in the fight was better. Also resume wise I believe Manny has the better names on his resume BUT I think Floyd has fought more different styles than Manny has. Just my opinion.

Floyd's resume consists of older fighters on their way out and fighters at weights where they have no significant wins. Ortiz,JMM,Hatton combined as Welters have a questionable win vs Collazo and Andre Berto. Shane,ODLH at the end of their careers.
These fights should have been feathers in the cap after beating Tszyu not Gatti at 140 and a Cotto not Judah at 147. Why fight Ortiz,.JMM, Hatton at Welter when they have no historic wins at Welter ?
is he better than Miguel Cotto ? How the hell would anyone know ?
He waits for the weakest possible champ who looks vulnerable after moving up to snatch a belt (Gatti 140,Hatton,Ortiz WW ) or a big name fighter that is 35-40 - ODLH,SHANE,BALDOMIR.

Considering a fight with Manny could completely change the sport and his resume by lightyears, you have to believe he is avoiding Manny for the same reason he avoided the best at 140 and 147 before he retired the first time. Right now Floyd needs to fight Manny 147 or Martinez at 154 (would that match Manny's mexican assinations ?) to get in the argument.

Hate is a strong word Uncle Rog. You read my argument. If he is as talented as they say there should be no problem taking out an "A" level prime opponent. Not like Today can compare in quality to many other generations.

At the end of the day his best win is vs a B level Diego Corrales.

 

Hate to sound like a *******, but most of Pac's wins were mighty impressive, and Floyd's wins will never come close to Pac's 2 wins over 3 Mexican legends in Barrera, Morales and Marquez (spare me, please).
Even his other impressive wins in Ledwaba, Sasakul, Hatton and Cotto are still at par with Floyd's best wins.

Now if Floyd didn't retire and instead fought a more prime Mosley, Cotto, Williams, Martinez, even Margarito who he probably would brutalize, then we can have a close competition.

As it stands, Pac by a country mile.

 

Good post and I totally agree. Ithink margarito he beats comfortable UD with a couple of wobbly moments, and the same with cot to. Shane vs may at lightweight would be a cracking fight as floyd was still throwing combos back then and still a fairly offensive fighter whilts beginning to build his defensive skills so it coulda gone either way as Shane was a beast at lw. Williams fight IMO is the toughest fir floyd just cause of the size difference, don't know if floyd would be able to counter him that well and cause of Williams output he'd have to be the slickest hes ever been. I do think that if may lost he'd never recover properly. All of his pre fight hype is about 42 tried 42 lost etc and it wouldn't suprise me that if he didn't get a rematch he'd just retire

Barrera is a much better win.



Pacquiao holds 2 wins over prime/near-prime HOF-locks (Barrera I, Marquez II).

Floyd holds no wins which fit this description.

This is the primary reason why Pacquiao's resume and career are superior to Floyd's.
