is Floyd's bad boy image an inherited or natural instinct?

persona... god u guys r dumb man. There is no persona.. Floyd is who he is . What happened is he got rich and famous and the **** got to head, just like it did with Tyson... he started hanging around rappers / leeches / yes-men , and he tries to act like a thug around them. The dude is full of insecurities , you can see right thru him.

There's this story, where Floyd was on a plane with Ray Leonard and Oscar De La Hoya. He asked he's just as talented as them but he'll never get the same popularity, fame or money. What could he do?

They said to him the only way you can do it is to wear the black hat.

Top Rank tried to market him like he was Oscar. Golden Boy, Pretty Boy. He had the clean cut look & would smile into the camera. It didn't work. Became "Money" May & went to the "money" division (WW) in the lower weights to get his fame.

Floyd is an egomaniac. If it wasn't for that he'd probably be normal and wouldn't be jealous or disrespectful of anyone, which is the main reason he is hated.

Yeah, it never worked with Floyd. People called it racism, Arum didn't like blacks, but it was really that Floyd didn't fit the good guy role Arum was so successful in building De La Hoya and Pacquiao up with. Arum should have more success with Bradley, who does seem like a more natural good character, atleast before his Khan/management shenanigans. Floyd with all his egocentricity could only thrive as the heel, bad boy role
