As much as I dislike the ducker who has become PhonyMay, if this fight goes down, prime for prime, May would KO Gamboa in the first 6 rounds. He's a come forward fighter, and May is one of the best CPers in history, and while Gamboa certainly has the power to trouble May early, it would be May coming on after the 3rd or 4th catching the defensively lacking Gamboa with hard counter R hands and eventually stopping him.

If the fight was made today, assuming at a catchweight of 137-141, I'd take May by decision. Close, but clear.

Gamboa has been rapidly improving his defence in his last 3 fights and now that he is with Steward even more. A lot of people haven't notice but there was a recent observation by boxing experts that said that the current Gamboa has one of the lowest percentage of being hit. So this means that his defence has greatly improved, he is not the Cyclone that he was before. ;)

No, it's because you're a fool that is completely blinded by patriotism. You'll pick the Cuban to win every time. The fact that you have no interest whatsoever in boxing that isn't Cuban related is a testament to that.

Floyd would embarrass him. The way Gamboa holds his hands down would get him KD'd multiple times.

I don't pick a Cuban every single time. I know that there are many Cubans right now that are not A+ fighters like Gamboa and Rigo. And yes, I only follow Cuban Boxing, have a problem with that? :smooch

Given that Mayweather was 21 for 21st bout and Gamboa was 29 their number of bouts is completely irrelevant and frankly a silly comparison. However by that stage Floyd had beaten Genaro Hernandez and Angel Manfredy who are better than anyone Gambo's ever faced to date

Anyway nice that you completely ignored my stylistic analysis and reply with this idiocy :patsch

Gamboa has showed in his last 3 fights a much better defence. As a matter of fact, the boxing experts have said that the current Gamboa is one of the hardest fighters to hit right now even above Donaire. So, his defence has gotten much better. He is not the crazy all out offensive hurricane that he once was. This is why I believe that he can take Floyd at 130.

Floyd may be taller and have a longer reach but Gamboa can neutralize that with his lighting speed, combos and explosiveness. ;)

how is this even serious? mayweather was faster at 130,he hit hard,he was smarter,he was technically better......infact he was superior in every way except power (although he still hits hard, especially at that weight)

gamboa has almost no defense in comparison to mayweather and would be a sitting duck for him with his 'hit fast and hard' approach

this would be such a brutal beatdown it would be difficult to watch

    mayweather by annihilation

The Mayweather of today is not even related to the Mayweather of then.130 Mayweather cannibalizes Gamboa.....quickly.

PBF woud brutalize a guy like Gmaboa at 130. He was too big too fast had too much lateral movement and hit too hard. He would have made a guy like Gamboa pay for his flaws and poor defense. PBF by TKO or wide UD.:deal

Seems to me that no one is really reading my posts ...

I said that Gamboa has really improved his defence in his last 3 fights, is one of the most difficult boxers to hit cleanly right now and people still give the same replies. :-(
