How much does a small hall show cost to promote?

No idea what sanctioning fees are for masters but I know that for a masters title the challengers purse has to be more than £1200 and the champion £1800 I think. All depends on cost of the venue really and how much fighters get paid. :conf

to have the wbf title on your show it costs between 8000-10000

 

Would say ask Rob but seeing as it's small hall you'll have to ask someone else. Rob only deals with big league.

Was talking to a guy yesterday who is looking at putting on an MMA event. He is looking at the National Stadium in Dublin which has a capacity of 2000 seats. He has no issue getting the fights together it's just the cost of the stadium, staff, security etc that he has to pin down. Even at €30 entry fee he says it's rare to make a lot of money and most events generally don't do much better than break even.

 

Last small hall show I went to, sitting before the fights, I started adding up who all got paid, coz there were a lot of people milling about inner ringside.

There's probably more and that's before the boxers get paid

 

I think to hold a five fight card you would need about 14/18grand just to break even depending on the size of the venue . Which is why small hall shows are the backbone of our sport . But the promoter will hopefully be building someone up in their trade and be able to cash in later on, in their career but I think a lot of shows do loose a lot of money

 

I recently costed up a show without any titles and it just nudged over £20k.

That was with hotel rooms sponsored and no title fights.

Without going all Rob thats not that bad. You only need 700 odd attendance to break even.

 

Just for the arena fee alone the top ones are around £300K.... about an 0 less on the other side of the spectrum.
