My bad I guess, for mentioning him in the opening post. Bloody hell some ESB-members are emotional about their heroes.

your bad for starting a thread with an inane premise without (if we are to believe you) having taken 2 minutes to watch prime Roy Jones on YouTube. Was it too much to ask?

Please accept my apology if you are in fact blind. But in that case even your seeing eye dog should have been able to fill you in.

And what exactly did you see in those fights that I didnt?

Toney KO'd Nunn, who was clearly a top class fighter. He was down on the cards, but still pulled out the KO.

McCallum was one the ATG middleweights, and Toney beat him in a close fight. What do you want from him? to shut out ATG fighters?

Reggie Johnson was a top class middleweight who he beat in a tough fight. Like I said, you can hardly expect him to walk through these great fighters do you?

Its not like hes...Roy Jones now is it?

If some peoples only way of discrediting Jones is by claiming Toney wasnt really all the good, then it shows they're REEEAAALLLYYY clutching at straws!

Yes, I can tell you worked a bit on that reply. Getting a bit emotional involved, are we?

You are not the only one that was unable to grasp the issue adressed in the thread. But those who misunderstod was few, three or four I think. Most ESB-members where able to understand and answer accordingly. In your case I guess I would have needed to express myself in a less complex manner.

All of Jones' work is clouded anyway, he was no doubt on steroids for the majority of his career.

That might not matter to you nuthuggers, but it should.

I saw Sumbu Kalambay easily school a peak Mike McCallum, then I saw Toney get an unlucky draw and a gift decision against an old McCallum.

"But maybe I'm just REAALLLY clutching at straws!" :nut

    Kalambay easily schooled McCallum???
It was a close decision in Italy of all places! McCallum could have KO'd Kalambay in Italy and would have still only gotten a draw.

McCallum also beat Kalambay in a SD 1 year before he got beaten by Toney the first time.

As for McCallum being old, he won the WBC light heavyweight title 2 years AFTER losing to Toney the first time.

Like I said, McCallum managed to stay world class into his late 30s.

Ill leave out Toneys 2nd win as McCallum was indeed "old" and past it at that stage.

On this thread,Ive seen people claim Griffen wasnt much good, then they say Toney wasnt much good, now McCallum wasnt up to much.

Yes, you are reeeallly clutching at straws!
