ever commented on the Margarito's punching power or what he thought of the handwrap scandal?:think Apologize if this has been done before. I've only been here since April. In no way do I think this has any bearing on the upcoming fight and I'm not interested in debating the first fight. I was simply thinking about how Tony started out very slow and come on very strong toward the end of that fight.
After the last 24/7 i'm now of the opinion the Cotto fight was probably the first fight he started loading up and it was probably something done on the spur of the moment because of Cotto's camp not sending anyone over to see the hands being wrapped but that's just me :conf
i think he only loaded for Shane i highly doubt he wrapped for Williams and if he did thats not just a shame on Antonio but really a shame on the commissions as a whole for letting it get away for so long if Margarito was able to get away with it for so long than isnt that a black eye to boxing as a whole if they didnt take the proper measures some how i believe antonio only tried to cheat for the Mosley bout i think it would be too hard to get away with plus why would a guy with loaded hands take his gloves off in the ring
IDK about his power, but this is pre-Cotto Margarito. http://www.eastsideboxing.com/news.php?p=16658&more=1 I think I remember in a different article him saying once he found out Margarito might of been loaded and was still able to beat him he gave himself more credit for the win. IMO it was a close fight many thought Margo won.
:thinkPossibility. I just have a hard time believing they would try it with so many people in the room. And does that mean they were desperate enough to try it against Mosley against a trainer who was watching and was known for spotting irregular wraps...This whole issue spins my ****ing head. There is no debating that Tony or his trainer, and in my opinion both, tried to cheat. But I wonder how long and why. If Cotto was his first fight loading gloves, then must've had great power without the wraps. :think
I don't get it, so they carried around an illegal pad to slip in his wraps just incase Cottos camp decide not to send anyone to check the wrapping process?
Margo had very bad camp for Mosley so I won't rule out that they have panicked at the last moment and decided to use the wraps
agreed plus its not like the ref or a member of the commission wasnt present some one was supervising
Going back on my original opinion, they've probably used them before (i'm thinking about the Cintron fights) so I think they probably evaluated the risks before each bout and then decided if they should use them and i'm sure there were fights that they decided against using them but in the Mosley fight they probably just made a bad judgment call.
wait the Cintron fight? he TKO'd him in the same amount of time in both fights so does that mean you think he did it in the first fight many yrs ago how often do you think guys get away with loading their gloves???
its like when Sammy Sosa was caught using an ilegal bat...how many home runs did he hit with those bats? he said of course it was the first time, but what else will he say... to me Margo has been using that **** for a long time and he should have been banned from boxing, period
yeah but in baseball they dont have officials examine the bat being constructed in the locker room officials and members of the other team watch the trainer wrap the guys hands i mean with your logic on Margarito being able to get away with loading his gloves in several high profile fights in different state commissions wouldnt that mean that probably many more do it and get away with it if its that easy to do and get away with
I'm thinking it's possibly something they could have experimented with a long time ago and used it sparadically ever since.
