Yeah but thats probalbly one reason that puts off terrestrial channels, they put the time, money and effort into building the fighters profile only for them to leave ala Kha.
Thought you guys may be interested to know that UFC 136 got 97,000 viewers on ESPN. UFC 136 was live from UK at primetime our time, so similar figures to your average Sky Boxing show, take from that what you will.
Quick turn around but I just done an update with the Fury and Vassell figures. For those of you who are too lazy to look at the OP, the Fury fight on 5 got 1.74 million viewers :good
Did I hear it mentioned that boxnation need in and around 200,000 subscribers to survive? If that's true, then they are totally ****ed
The only publicity they're doing is a half hour plug in on 456, Bunce and Rosenthal going about how great it will be for £10 a month. Also a few digs at Sky, which pretty nails down any advertising on that side!
I bet more than that do. When they're missing Cotto-Margarito and such, they'll soon forgot about "allegedly".
The hardcore boxing fans will subscribe. But that isn't enough to keep the channel going and for Boxnation to secure big fights they need the casuals subscribing. The big fights will that Boxnation have promised to show on a weekly basis will soon stop coming, leaving the channel bust by the end of 2012 IMO.
And my original point was that I don't think the poll is representative of how many of those people will end up getting the channel. It seems giving money to Frank is like voting for the tories. No one does it yet they get a lot of votes...
