This is for the Cuban boxing fans and everyone else that has knowledge of the current Cubans in pro boxing. Who do you think it's the best ( in order ) ??? Here's my list composed of current Champs and top prospects! #1- Yuriorkis Gamboa #2- Guillermo Rigondeaux #3- Odlanier Solis #4- Erislandy Lara #5- Mike Perez #6- Yoan Pablo Hernandez #7- Alexei Acosta #8- Luis Garcia #9- Yudel Jhonson #10- Luis Franco I know that there are more good prospects but these are the top 10 in my opinion. Thoughts?
Wouldn't have Perez that high. Would rank Lara above Solis based on the Williams win ( because he did win ) Acosta looked poor last time out but I like him. Finally I think Rigo will turn out better than Gamboa but based on performances thus far Gamboa deserves top spot ( for now )
Good points, Gamboa and Rigo are very close but Gamboa has showed much more so far. I placed Solis above Lara because he was much better in the amateurs and was looking very sharp against Vitaly before he got injured but Lara and Solis are close. I rate Perez pretty high cause he won the Pricefighter and because he is undefeated.
Gamboa (no controversy here) Hernandez (besides Gamboa the only other Cuban to hold a major Belt) Rigondeaux (interim champ fighting for a belt next month) Lara (he's a the gate) Franco (fighting for an interim or #1 spot) Solis (he blow himself up and with that his chance to became a HW Champ and millions) Perez (good prospect) Salinas (fighting regularly and stepping up in competition, he will fight for a belt in a year or two Collado (he needs to fight better opp.) Jhonson (DITTO ) Santana ( Good prospect) Garcia is going no where with the path he is taking, I put Solis there hoping he will get serious but I have no faith on him, Dorticos and Gonzalez will end it up as bouncers for Bongo's, there is a few others like Ugas, Fiz etc.. that have a good chance considering that we have 4 major belts nowadays
Franco wont make much further than what he is right now. He was lucky to win two fights ago against Miranda.
