As for the rankings Luf, I'd only rate fighters that were inside the divisions limit. Otherwise they're in the next division.

 

In Clay Moyles book, it says that Langford weighed 136lbs on the day of the fight. Is that incorrect Senya? Admittedly still more than a lb over the limit at that time (my mistake)

I actually have serious problems with maths, I was an English prodigy as a kid and couldn't go to school because I hampered other kids learning, although my Mum was told I was (no joke) a completely lost cause in maths.

Mum says I'm numerically dyslexic I can't even do simple double digit sums, hurts my head and makes me sweat, no joke :-(

I see the logic of rounding down to an extent.

That isnt how a weight class works though. Each weight class has a max limit, anything over that is in the next weight class so surely anything above today's light weight limit of 135 should not count as lightweight.

"The articles called for 138 pounds at 3 o'clock. Gans weighed a few ounces over 135, while Langford was an even 140."

Baltimore Sun:
"Langford a trifle over 140."

No they were small middles, especially when you consider what they wouldve weighed on fight night.
