Sorry I'm not agreeing on Haye or Cotto. Or Pacquiao that's just silly.

Not sure I agree with Haye. He could punch at cruiser, and people have been criticising his power at heavy, despite him staggering Valuev, putting Ruiz down moving backwards, both guys with decent chins, and having Barrett up and down like a whores drawers.

How many times has Cotto been knocked off his feet and left rubbery legged by a single shot?

Anyone saying he's a one punch K.O artist is talking ****, but he's clearly a damaging Borkhorsor-esque puncher.

It took him what, six knockdowns to get rid of Barrett?

People go on like he's flattening everyone, when in fact Gurov is the only guy he's put away with one shot.

I comparing it to when people say it's evidence of PEDs, like he's a Hearns-esque puncher at Welter or even a knockout artist. As I said, I'm not saying he can't punch.

    Cotto is an accumulative puncher.

Do they? I'd say since he's moved up I've heard a lot of people say he doesn't have that much at Heavy. To put Ruiz down with a one two (only the second really landing full on) moving backwards suggests otherwise for me.

It really depends on what were talking about here? If we mean who punches hard all these guys mentioned do except Paulie .

The power i presume the OP is talking about is concussive one punch power. Julian Jackson type power!.

I think people think he's on something because he's 'carried up' his power to the higher weights, when they should be shaking their head at how long he cut stupid amounts of weight.

Yeah this is why I don't normally like joining in on over/underrated type discussions. Who is doing the rating?

Oh right I agree with that. But for his size Pacquiao still has a hell of a lot of power.

I still think some of you guys are being a bit too critical here.

Sure most of their knockouts are accumulative punches because they're also good boxers but there aren't many heavier hitters at welterweight than the likes of Cotto. The same with Haye as a small-ish heavyweight and Pac around featherweight.

But as mentioned it all depends on who's doing the rating. I mentioned Froch because he seems to over rate his power himself. The same with Tony Bellew.

I don't think I've ever heard anyone say Miguel Cotto is the best puncher ever for example or that Haye was more explosive than a young Tyson. That would be overrating them of course.

Right, the same way I said I didn't think he'd have much of a size advantage over JMM if at all, whereas experts were calling it a LW vs a WW.
