Vitali will return on March 3, but Wladimir has to fight Thompson before March 10?

Where are people getting the idea that Wlad must fight Thompson by Mar 10?

I guess I wouldn't be too surprised if Wlad vacates the belt and Goosen has Thompson fight Arreola or Helenius for that title. But I imagine there would be some under-the-table agreement that the new champion would face Wlad eventually.

If Wlad does fight Thompson again let's hope it's a bit more entertaining than their first bout. It was an absolute snoozefest.

Yes, they've put way too much time, effort, and fighting into getting the titles to let one be taken for merely not meeting a mandatory.

Thompson, if he is an enforced mandatory, his chance at Wlad may be delayed, cause I don't see Wlad fighting him two months after his upcoming fight.

But regardless, you can bet if Wlad HAS to fight him by a certain time, he will. Those titles aren't going anywhere.

THe way Thompson put his arm under his head as he went down.....it was as if he was preparing to casually take a nap.

its just a date that the IBF puts out. Wlad has 9 months once a mand is picked and it can be pushed to 11 months if they are in contract talks to make a deal ..... its not like March 10 is a drop dead date at all if that is even the date the IBF said

Its probably enough that they are negotiating with Thompson and agreed to face him before march 10

One in American on PPV and one in Germany with a huge stadium, that seems to make sense.
