I know Mir has Big Nog to worry about and Carwin is out for recovery but which one besides Brock has the best arsenal to defeat Obereem?
Carwin undoubtedly, although I think that's a slim chance. He has no explosion in his shot and his offensive wrestling is highly overrated. That being said, he's better than Mir in that department and he hits a lot ****ing harder. Mir has no chance because his takedowns AND his stand-up suck nuts and he'd be forced to trade with a far superior striker. Oh yeah, he's also Glass Jawed AND Glass Hearted which further decrease his already minimal chances.
Haha here we go with the Mir discussion again, saying he has a glass heart is kind of harsh isn't it?
Absolutely not. The only time he overcame adversity was in the first Lesnar fight when he was facing a guy with one pro fight who was there to be be submitted. Mir/Freeman- Freeman gets top position and punches him, Mir quits. Mir/Pe de Pano- Pe de Pano gets top position and punches him, Mir quits. Mir/Vera- Vera beats him up standing, gets top position and punches him, Mir quits. Mir/Lesnar II- Lesnar gets top position and punches him, Mir quits. Mir/Carwin- Carwin pins him up against he cage and punches him, Mir quits. Mir is a disgraceful quitter and his Glass Jaw fails him every ****ing time someone lays a glove on it. He has a Glass Jaw and Glass Heart and the only thing above-average about his game is his BJJ. And it really isn't that good either.
When it happens every time you're struck, then yes, it looks like a quitjob. Mir goes full-on ****** as soon as he's hit and it's a combination of his abysmal Chin and atrocious Heart. He is a disgrace to MMA and the only reason I watch his fights are to see his Glass Jaw shattered again and again.
whatever mate.. franks taken some savage beatings and never once taken the easy way out and tapped his hand in submission. but you keep telling us about real heart keyboard warrior..
I don't think he quit against Carwin. I don't think he respected Carwin's power enough. Mir just stood there with that douchie look on his face, like he couldn't be any more bored with the situation; and Carwin took him out with a couple short punches. I don't think he quit against Lesnar. Obviously not in the first fight, but in the rematch either. In regards to his heart, I think you can tell how much heart he's going to have by how good of shape he is in. When Mir shows up slightly out of shape, he looks like he can be easily broken. When Mir is in shape, he is a solid top 10 heavyweight. Kongo has repeatedly shown to be the difference between pretender and contender, and Mir is a level above Kongo when he is on. I mean the guy is never going to be Nick Diaz, but more often than not, he's a lot tougher than Wes Sims.
He doesn't even try to escape the bad positions he's in, once he's hit he just turtles and looks for a way out. So, you have two options. Either you agree with me that he's a Glass Jawed Fraud and a quitter, or you're saying that he sucks so bad that he can't escape.
Cruz and Vera were near Mir's returning to competition after the motorcycle accident. Mir wasn't looking for a way out against Carwin. Carwin knocked him out before he had a chance to think about quitting. Mir could have tapped against Lesnar in the rematch. Mir took some vicious ground and pound in the first, and came out throwing in the 2nd. When you combine that with what happened in their first fight, it shows Mir has some fight in him. Mir quit against Freeman, but he was exhausted and had his ass whipped. http://www.vbox7.com/play:680826ef6d?r=google
1. And while that was a significant incident in his career, it doesn't explain why he was content to get hit and do nothing. 2. Mir wasn't KOed instantly. He took the first two or three before his knees buckled and he didn't bother to try and get off the cage, clinch, or anything. He just remained in Carwin's single collar-tie getting punched. 3. No he couldn't have. Lesnar pinned him in half guard, underhooked him and stocked his head, and then pummeled him. He did nothing to try and improve the situation. His one bit of offense in the fight was the desperation charge with his patented three-punch combo and then the wannabe Faber knee. Then he got beat up some more. What Nogueira suffered against Sapp and Fedor is what a fighter with heart does when put in bad positions. Mir just accepts his fate. 4. Yes, he did. And he got the hiding of the century because, once again, he was content to lay in a bad position and get hit. The guy isn't a quitting disgrace on the level of a Sims or Valentijn Overeem, but he is a Glass Hearted, Glass Jawed Fraud. We can all have a differing opinion on a topic as subjective as heart, but Mir has done nothing to convince me that he has much of one.
We can certainly agree on that much. It's hard to top either of those guys in the Glass Hearts rankings.
