He was the heaviest that he had ever been, 38 years old and not boxed for a year and Vitali still couldn't beat him....and you Vit sack singers still try to make having his face virtually torn clean off as some sort of moral victory for the Ukrainian. :-(
I think it was pretty clear that Vitali wasn't going to last the 7th round. If he did, by some miracle, he'd never have seen the 8th round out. The tide had turned and Lewis was dominating him. The referee had to save Vitali because of his cuts, but he also saved him a much more damaging knockout loss.
Thjats pretty much it....in a way if the ref had less kind and let it go on and Klit had been put down and put away we wouldn't have to listen to the constant drone of Vitali fans whining
Yeah, I agree. They whine about the result but if they were fans of Vitali, they'd be glad the fight was stopped when it was. Vitali couldn't have won, the tide had truly turned and Lewis had finally found his legs, whereas Vitali was all over the place. Had it gone on, Vitali's good chin would have seen him take a lot of hard shots and that wouldn't have been good for him. Whether Vitali got stopped in the 6th, 7th or 8th, he was getting stopped. The referee prolonged his career by ending it early.
Lennox himself said he felt as good as ever before the fight, I guess you know better than him, right? F*cking idiot
Oh yeah. find me one boxer, ever, who doesn't claim that their most recent training camp was their best ever atsch I guess you just started watching boxing this week. Lewis was a slick black man of integrity. Vitali was a steroid abusing cheat who got what he had coming. Lewis TKO6 Close thread/
