You are a very good poster. You seem to have a grasp on MMA.

Must you diminish your points and acumen with all that "glass jaw" ****ing nonsense?

You are a far better poster without all that stupid ****.

I think Mir is a top Heavyweight for sure. When he's on, he's on and looks phenominal.

He's improving his cardio but I would like to see him back around 240-245.

    Mir.

But Mir's biggest problem is he doesn't believe in his skills, if he was ruthless he would be a great fighter.

Me and MetalManble disagree on Mir all the time. I think he has arguably the best overall skill set in the HW division and is a natural talent. What other guy 6'3 260lbs has the BJJ, Muay Thai, and knockout power of Mir?? You could say JDS but I doubt his BJJ is the caliber of Mir. His striking is also light years what it was even 2 years ago. Always improving and evolving.

The irony is that Overeem is everything you described of Mir.

Brock has all the attributes needed to take Overeem down and expose his glass heart again. Overeem does not react to adversity well, if Brock can get him on the mat, he won't get up as easily as Cain did and will be in deep waters. It's one of those fights that either guy could win, but either guy can also potentially make it look like a mis-match.

Carwin has power, but his standup is a little too robotic and Overeem is too technical for him, would look a lot like the Carwin Vs JDS fight, imo.

Mir has a chance if it goes to the mat. I'd rate his chances higher than Carwin.

When there aren't delusional fanboys who post inane drivel like, "that punch woulda KOed anybody" then I'll drop it, until then, probably not because it's a backlash against total ignorance and this MMA mindset of not "disrespecting" the fighters. I'll take boxing fans who call a bum a bum, a can a can, and a Glass Jaw a Glass Jaw over all of this nonsense about respect and honor.

There is no irony in that because I'm not an Overeem fan, at all, and have repeatedly bashed him on his own Glass Jaw and Glass Heart.

You crazily, crazily underrate Mir I think. When he's on top form he's an excellent heavyweight. I'd back him to beat Lesnar and Carwin in rematches, though obviously Carwin has a live chance against anyone with that power. I've been well impressed by some of Mir's recent performances, namely Nelson and Kongo. He was, for some bizarre reason, very complacent against Carwin, I think he made the mistake of not rating/fearing him, and paid the price. Still, a top-class fighter on his day IMO.

Striking- He throws exactly one combination and if you don't believe it, go look on YouTube for the Mir combination video. He literally charges forward Forrest Griffin-style with the same three-punch combo every time. His footwork is crossed up and ineffective, he has no defense or head movement, it's just.....meh. There's nothing special here and if it were a kickboxing match I'd even pick Mitrione to bust him up.

Clinch- The guy allows himself to be stifled on the fence, he has no takedowns from here, he's not effective in pummeling for position, and he can't strike effectively from the position either.

Takedowns- The guy couldn't take down shot CroCop. 'Nuff said.

Takedown defense- He has none. Lesnar put him on his ass, at will.

Top position- He's good. If Mir gets top position against a guy without significant scrambling abilities they're probably ****ed. He doesn't worry about position over submission like most BJJ guys so it also works out against him when he's got a guy who can sweep or scramble to the feet.

Guard- Good against shitty people who leave things hanging out there, terrible against people who can actually scrap because he's content to lay there thinking he's the America Nog when he's actually too Glass Jawed and not as effective from the position to be that type of fighter. This is where he gets sparked out consistently, therefore he sucks here.

So why in the hell would you take this guy over Lesnar and Carwin if they threw down again? He still can't stuff Lesnar's shot, he's still not a better striker than Carwin, and he doesn't have the wrestling ability to fight where he wants nor the Chin to handle the incoming.

Has Mir ever looked especially good against a great wrestler apart from catching an experienced Brock in a sub. Any of Cain, Brock or Carwin are horrible matchups for him.

Overeem loses to Lesnar and Carwin. Sparks Mir.
