4 time Divisonal World Champion- Jorge Arce attempts to become the 1st Mexican to win a 5th divisional World Title.

Arce had already became the 1st Mexican to win a 4th divisional word champion when he beat Wilfredo Vazquez Jr.
and now he;s going for a 5th world title in a different division.
Arce gunning for title in fifth weight division

    • November 25th, 2011
The always exciting Jorge ‘Travieso’ Arce (58-6-2, 45KO’s) will make history and become the first Mexican to win a World title in five weight divisions should he defeat Indonesian opponent Angky Angkotta (25-5, 14KO’s) in their bout for the vacant WBO bantamweight title in the headliner of a card being held at the Plaza de Toros Rea in Sinaloa, Mexico this Saturday night.
Arce, who vacated his WBO super-bantamweight title to drop down in weight, has already defeated Angkotta once, via a seventh-round technical decision in Jan 2010, after Angkotta suffered a cut to his right eye following a head clash. Arce was outraged when questions were raised over whether he deserved the decision, especially when they came from Angkotta’s camp, and seems ready to make amends.
“The fight went to the cards and I think I won by two points, and he got very upset,” said Arce. “He said he was robbed, and now here’s my opportunity to vindicate myself. He’s been a thorn in my side, and now I am ready to prove beyond doubt who’s best. I wont leave it in the hands of the judges, I will knock him out so that there’s no doubt about my victory this time. ”

BS fight, and he'll be the 2nd to 4, not 1st to 5 if he wins.

Pac vs. Hector velazquez was a BS fight
Pac vs Clottey was a BS fight (a fixed fight)
Pac vs margarito was a BS fight (cause it was also a FIXED FIGHT)

Arce did become the 1st Mexican to win a 4th divisonal world title (Morales was 2nd).

Now, he could be the 1st Mexican to win a 5th divisional world title.

Interims do count, because the real champion is in recess, medical leave, etc., so the organizations pick the top two contenders to fight for an interim world title, then they fight the original champion that couldnt defend.

Interims do count, because the real champion is in recess, medical leave, etc., so the organizations pick the top two contenders to fight for an interim world title, leaving 2 world champions (momentarily) at the same time , then they fight the original champion that couldnt defend, so that theres only 1 champion.

Humberto Soto won an Interim world title, and then 2 , and is now considered a 3 divisional world champion.

Interim Champ for me, is like a substitue teacher, they're qualified, but never get the same level of respect as the regular class taker.

interim may have counted when interims were responsibly handed out

now interims are givin out to guys when the champ isnt injured they do it for sanction fees

I go by the idea they all do or none do. If interims don't count then neither do almost any title, such as David Haye's paper WBA heavyweight reign (a hell of a lot more flimsy than Arce's interim reign).

A clear example is Chavez Jr...he's the full regular title holder but he got that title in such shady circumstances that you'd have every right not to count him.
