    20 fights, one went 4 rounds, the rest 3 or less.
    There are enough semi quality journeymen out there to at
    least possibly give the guy some rounds. Enough of this ****.

    Agreed. He needs to be pushed. If you fight guys that the wind could knock down all the time then you'll never develop the extra gears to be successful.
    John McDermott here in the UK would be interesting for him.

    I like Deontay, and I hope he becomes a real contender, but he has been wasting our time for a couple of years now.

    That's usually the strategy, when a hot prospect has some hidden, underlying weakness that the public doesn't yet see. Stopping Long in one round is a good accomplishment for Wilder at this stage, though. But it is time for him to test himself against the best clubfighters. How he fares in those fights will prove if your prediction comes true.

    The lad is NOT ready yet. His agression isn't there and his punches need more accuracy, allbeit it's pretty good for a guy with his limited amatuer background. Sure, he won a bronze medal, but it may have been on his sheer heart and ability as well as his size.

    I say another 5 more tin cans, perhaps within a year and a half, then put him in with a Guinn, Grant, Golota, Tua or Williams, and then see how he fares. Then after that, give him another like one of those other 5; an Oquendo, Pinto, Nagy or some European Pole or Brit wannabe.

    Trust me, he looks good now, but he isn't ready yet. He is right where he needs to be!

    Agree. Even Cooney was fighting much better opponents at this point in his career. Wilder is so protected and coddled it is sad.

    Funny and proper ko in this one. Why is Wilder fighting in these barnyards anyways? I know he will fight tin cans for a good portion of his career start, but fighting in barnyards?
