Lara, Molina, or Williams would be the proper next step. I'd prefer to see in with the either Cotto or Margarito. The losing fighter would make some sense.
I think Kirkland fights Bundrage next so Canelo should unify with Cotto-Margo winner or have one more defense against Paul Williams...
I rather see Canelo vs with Kirkland or Chavez Jr cause im confident he beats either of those 2 fighters.
Cotto/Margarito are not fighting Canelo because they are from TR and Arum has another agenda depending on who wins from them two. I won't mind Williams vs Canelo but I doubt GBP would want to risk Canelo in with Williams. More than likely Canelo will fight another "has-been" and it would be Mayorga. But I will give him credit, Cintron is a step up in competition but way past his best days.
Martinez! Because simply put I think he would whoop Sauls ass and FINALLY get a decent Payday ,and I also just dont see Kirklands chin holding up to Canelos power for more than a few rounds. Kirkland should rematch Ishida.

Winner of Margo v Cotto, Kirkland, JCC Jr, Williams, Martinez any of those guys. he is not ready for PBF and big men shouldn't call out littler men its weak to me anyway. If he ran that gauntlet and stayed undefeated then a he'd probably be P4P#1 and one of the biggest draws in the sport and a Floyd fight (assuming May is still fighting at this point) would be there for him no doubt. But I don't think he has the skills to beat all of these guys. Esp not Sergio but Sergio is getting up there in age.
Mayweather is too fast and slick for Canelo. Martinez is too fast, too powerful and mobile for Canelo. Kirkland wins if it goes past 6 rounds, Canelo doesn't have the stamina to be competitive beyond.
