This was a fight from the Micky Helliet show on at the Coronet @ the Elephant and Castle last night (25.11.11)
It featured Dan Woodgate and Paul Davis and is well worth a watch :yep

Also, it was nice to see some boxing from a small hall show going out on Eurosport, I thought it was really well done with some good commentary from Tim Caple and Richie Woodhall. Hope that continues :good

Davis had his hands too low all fight. Great combo for the stoppage.

Brutal KO. Put his punches together well but Davis was gone after the first uppercut so was defenceless to the follow up shots

hi m8 dan woodgate is my brother he was not really interested in boxing himself until 25 yrs although we were taken by our dad as youngsters he was about 17 stone when he went to the local gym for the first time to help lose some weight. the trainer had said did he want to try amateur boxing which he agreed to and had roughly 4 amateur fights at super heaveweight but at 5ft 11 was never really going to fit in at that weight.
he dropped a weight class and enetered the abas where he knocked out the current armed forces champ before losing on points in the quarters to a olympic hopeful who won the title. He met friends of ricky hattons while on many trips to vegas following hatton who he told about hes new found love of boxing and he would be interested in trying the pro game did they have some advice . although he had got down to 14stone he was told to go away and lose weight and tone up which to lose 3 stone and then be told to lose more was a bit of a set back but he ws determined to prove these people wrong including steve 'the viking' foster and the man who became hes trainer after a year of hard work ensleigh 'bingo' bingham.

hes only loss was a controversal one to a boxer that appeared in the final of prize fighter and also challenged for a european title it was a lose lose situation for woodgate but he kept hes head high and battled through the loss.
